Overview

The saga introduction, MASTERS AT ARMS, begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath--forging an unbreakable bond--will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become master of them?

NOBODY'S ANGEL (Rescue Me Saga #1): Marc d'Alessio might own a BDSM club with his fellow military veterans, Adam and Damián, but he keeps all women at a distance. When Marc rescues Angelina Giardano from a disastrous first BDSM experience at his club, however, an uncharacteristic attraction leaves him torn between his safe, but lonely world, and a possible future with his angel.

Angelina leaves BDSM behind only to have her dreams plagued by the Italian angel in a wolf mask who rescued her. When she meets Marc at a bar in her hometown, she can't shake the feeling she knows him, but has no idea why he reminds her of her angel. But Marc's search-and-rescue partner, widower Luke Denton, believes Angelina is the angel his wife promised to send him, convincing Marc she's meant for Luke. While trying to protect Angelina from her abusive ex, though, Marc once again finds her at the Masters at Arms Club where she turns his safe, controlled world upside down.

Books in the Rescue Me Saga should be read in order because characters will continue to work on relationship issues even after their happy ending.

ABOUT THE RESCUE ME SAGA: The books in the ongoing Rescue Me Saga are not stand-alone stories and should be read in order, beginning with the books in this volume. (The introduction, MASTERS AT ARMS, also is available as a separate, free download at this site.) Characters will recur in later books to deal with further issues in their lives as the saga continues and each book builds upon all previous ones. Sometimes main characters even need another book to help resolve major issues affecting their relationships.

BONUS MATERIAL in this version: Kallypso Masters has added the PLAYLIST of music that inspired her as she wrote about the first three couples mentioned in this combined volume, as well as a GLOSSARY OF TERMS and a CAST OF CHARACTERS in these books in the saga.

CONTENT WARNING: These books are intended for mature adult readers who are not offended by profanity and graphic (but never gratuitous!) sex scenes. Due to the emotional way in which the author presents the subject matter in the characters' lives (past and present), the books might cause triggers while reading. Meet the Author

Kallypso Masters writes emotional, realistic Romance novels with dominant males (for the most part) and the strong women who can bring them to their knees. She also has brought many readers to their knees-having them experience the stories right along with her characters in the Rescue Me Saga. Kally knows that Happily Ever After takes maintenance, so her couples don't solve all their problems and disappear at "the end" of their Romance, but will continue to work on real problems in their relationships in later books in the saga.

Kally has been writing full-time since May 2011, having quit her "day job" the month before. She lives in rural Kentucky and has been married for 30 years to the man who provided her own Happily Ever After. They have two adult children, one adorable grandson, and a rescued dog.

Kally enjoys meeting readers at national romance-novel conventions, book signings, and informal gatherings (restaurants, airports, bookstores, wherever!), as well as in online groups (including Facebook's "The Rescue Me Saga Discussion Group"-send a friend request to Karla Montague on Facebook to join if you are 18 or older and don't mind spoilers. Kally also visits the Fetlife "Rescue Me! discussion group" regularly). She hopes to meet you in her future travels whether virtually or in-person! This review is from: Masters at Arms (Intro to a Military Romance & BDSM Series for Adults) (Rescue Me) (Kindle Edition)
I got this book free and was hooked and have since bought and read the rest of the series This author makes me laugh and cry. Her characters are so well drawn that you just can't stand not to finish the book as fast as you can. I have since reread the whole series several times waiting on the next book to come out. I am a veteran and the daughter of a veteran. If you know any veterans or spouses I would have them read this series.

    Good Easy Read

I bought this as a sale item and was a little worried I wouldn't like the characters, but they are good peeps that are easy to like who are good to each other. Which makes the kink side more fun to read.

    Awesome

HOT, HOT, HOT....OMG EROTIC HOT! The tension, the anticipation....wow!

Masters At Arms: Great introduction to this BDSM/military series. Really gives you a hard look at all three heroes and gives sufficient background information to continue with the following books.

Nobody's Angel: Wonderful continuation of Marc's story. He's a bit more complex than Adam and Damien so it was interesting to see where the BDSM lifestyle will eventually lead him. Angelina was a perfect partner for him, I think she really complimented him. They both tested each others boundaries and experimented with the one thing they thought they didn't want, love. She was very unsure about herself, cried a lot, but she was also very tough and defended herself quite nicely and I loved that about her.

I love that Ms. Masters has interwoven all of these characters together in these books, it makes for a much more interesting read....a real page turner! Plus she provides the POV from most of the characters and that's always a plus, to know what what each person is thinking or even plotting.

First of all, I am proclaimed cover junkie! If you REALLY want to grab my attention to your book, give it a drop dead gorgeous cover. This book gets my entire package of gold stars for the cover. Now shall we move along to the story?!?

To start things off, the book was written in a very user friendly way. As the first in the series, we get a peek into the lives of those who will make up the books to follow. This peek is done in such a manner, that the reader doesn’t get lost. First we are introduced to Adam Montague, who just happens to be a Marine. Sitting at the bus stop, waiting to catch a bus to Camp Pendleton Adam is slowly coming out of the drunken haze he has been in for two weeks. Minding his own business, he can’t help but notice when the young lady near is being harassed. Adam steps up to protect the young woman and see that she gets home. Karla only 16 wants to be a singer, and is off to New York. Sitting in the bus station this may not have been the best idea. After a total stranger steps in and sends the creepy male off to lick his wounded pride, Karla starts to re-think her running to New York . . but not enough to want to turn around. When the creep guy comes back, Karla finds herself wishing nothing more than to go home. Pleased that she changed her mind, Adam puts the both of them in a cab to make sure she arrives safely. When Adam and Karla finally part ways, he agrees to stays in touch with her through mail. Breaking her heart that friends was all they would ever be, after all . . she is only 16.

The next section deals with Damian Orlando, a bus boy for a hotel restaurant, who is just trying to make rent and keep his nose clean. A young man who stuck up for his sister, found himself serving two years in Juvie and now spending time trying to stay out of trouble, not wanting to go back. It’s while minding his own business cleaning tables that he sees her . . a beautiful blond that is the picture of perfection. Savannah Gentry life is nothing close to perfection. The daughter of a very wealthy and powerful man, Savannah is sold to her father’s clients, and forced to do things she doesn’t want to do. It’s these very things that had her screaming for help one night . . the very night Damian was cleaning plates from the hallways of the hotel. Rushing in to help her is how they finally meet. When they finally depart, he is headed off to who knows where (Marines) and she is heading off to end her life.

It’s in the next section we are introduced to Marc D’Alesso. After his brothers’ death in the war, Marc returned home to help run the family business. Two years have passed and he knows this isn’t what he wants to do anymore. After a night with an ex, he finds himself having enlisted in the Navy. Not wanting to go the Marines route because that’s what his brother did, but still wanting to do something, little did he know eventually he would be working for the very same unit his brother died protecting under the same Master Sergeant. Doc they called him. A mission on the rooftop of a building turns bad. The men up top are sitting ducks when a grenade is thrown at them. Here we find Damian again, and after the dust settles up top we find Doc with him. They are attacked again, and Master Sergeant Montague comes to the aid to get his guys out of there. It’s when the mission is over and guys are all sent state side that their lives become even more entangled.

Setting the reader up for all that is to come this book took my breath away. I had moments of tears because the story was touching my heart. I had moments where the book was so hot, I wondered if my cheeks were turning red. Finally, I was left absolutely wanting more.

Wow after reading Gabrial's story I expected so much from Lucian, boy was I wrong! It started wonderfully, his passion and gentleness was beautiful to read. About half way thru the book something changed almost as if a different author stepped in to finish the book.
Lucian became smug and cruel, treating Jax as if she was a 5 year old. Making fun of her and laughing at her when she didn't understand something. Jax went from a powerful strong self aware woman to a whiney indecisive child in a matter of a few chapters.
I became so sickened of the story I almost deleted it before I could review it.
I have tead later books in this series and found some to be great but this is not one of them. I only wish I could get my money back on this one.

I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. I am a sucker for all things and stories about Marines. And this one did not disappoint me. Masters at Arms gives us the change to meet Adam, Damien and Marc. I was pulled in from the very beginning, with Adam at the bus station coming to the rescue of Karla. And all through his return to the war and him meeting Damien and Marc. What these three Marines go through on and off the battlefield will break your heart. Adam has recently lost his wife. Damien tries to save Savannah and loses his job, in turn loses his apartment and joining the Marines is whats left for him. Marc is tired of his life, cheating ex-girlfriend that keeps coming back and he joins the Navy as a Corpsman, which puts him with the Marines as a medic. When their time ends in the service, the three find that they don't want to lose each other and they open a BDSM club. All three will have their own crosses to bare and face their pain, past and move forward.
Nobody's Angel is Marc and Angelina's story and what a story is it. He is torn with the feelings he has for her that he has never felt for any woman before. With the help of his friends, can he move past what is holding him back? Can Angelina accept him as he is? And will the way they originally met be what keeps the apart?
This story will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. This is a first for my from Kallypso Masters and I don't know why I wanted so long to read it. Can't wait to read Nobody's Hero, Nobody's Perfect, Somebody's Angel, Nobody's Dream and any others added to the Rescue Me Saga series.
Also in the beginning of this book is a section with a list of numbers if anyone needs Crisis services: Suicide Prevention, PSTD assistance, Rape Abuse & Incest National Network information. Please ask for help if you need it, there are people ready to help.

Masters at Arms was probably one of the first books I read when I got me ereader and I was hooked not only
on ebooks but on this series. I had never even considered reading anything about BDSM or anything like it
before but this just bought you to know the characters and then you could see the course of their actions, and
there was no judgement just a natural acceptance this is the way some people are, yet such a realistic feel to
them. I have since found out that there has been a lot of research gone into this series and it shows, once I'd
read masters at Arms I was hooked and trying to choose favourite characters would be like choosing a favourite
    star in the sky impossible.
Nobody's Angel does have a couple of my favourites well they all are actually, in it Marco and Angel, this story
also shows how dangerous BDSM can be without the proper procedures and policies in place, and I suppose a
bit of a warning if you are going to get into the lifestyle do it right.
Marco and Angelina have such chemistry together you can feel it from the start even if they take a while to catch
on to the idea. It's wonderful seeing al the friends from Masters there and as you move through the series they
all become good friends to you. Though you know there is more to Marco and Angels story  and all the rest of
    the group.
A great introduction to a wonderful series.

I'm not going to give a run down on the story line, so many reviewers have done that for me ( thankfully , as any summary from me would be book length ! ). I can't recall how I got onto this series, but I will be forever grateful to the person/blog/FB share. Kallypso Masters has a way with words that just leaves me , "wow" ! I was a little apprehensive for the first few pages of Masters at Arms as this was my first real foray into Adult/ Contemporary / Erotic /BDSM ( apart from the somewhat obligatory FSoG). I'm not sure why I was worried as from the start Kally had me hooked. I needed to know more, I read more. I became involved. I became invested. The characters became real, I wanted to hug them, smack them, laugh/cry with them.
If you love multiple, full length book series, if you want to become involved with the characters, if you want to get on your knees and beg an author to keep writing, then this is a series for you! These first two books in The Rescue Me series are now published as one and are a brilliant introduction into the series.

Just as an aside...... I never thought I would write a review. I didn't think I had the "balls" so to speak. I have read all currently available books in this series and I have learned something. The characters are so real, they learn so much about themselves and others, that as a reader you grow too. You take a chance you wouldn't have before. A risk that seemed impossible 2-3 years ago. But I was asked if I'd like to leave my thoughts about these book so I did !! Yep Go ME. GO Kally and the Brats !!

A masterful tale told by an incredible writer. Kallypso Masters uses her pen to weave a story of love and honor and family. In the first book, Master at Arms we meet the men that the series revolves around and the women who will impact their lives and their hearts. Through heartbreak and war, through growth and perseverance, through joy and love, these people will learn who they are and strive to become the people they want to be. Their stories continue in Nobody's Angel. We learn more about them all as they fight their inner demons. I have to say that I was completely hooked within pages of picking up the first book. Now I sit and wait, not so patiently, while Ms. Masters continues the story for us ....................... Are we there yet? Donna Cheatle (Brazen Bibliophile)

This book is currently .99 at online bookseller sites. Kallypso

This book is currently .99 at online bookseller sites. Kallypso has created characters that will become family members to you. One section of the book deals with some hard topics related to child/sexual abuse. Some people are triggered by reading these kinds of situations but I find them helpful and cathartic.
This is an erotic romance but it's also a dramatic "real-life" book giving the backgrounds of the main characters in the Rescue Me series.
Be warned that future books in the series are not really stand-alone stories. The series should be read in order to obtain the full continuity of the stories.
The second story in the book is "Nobody's Angel". This is Marc and Angelina's story.
I love this whole series and highly recommend it.

Found this after reading the book Club Shadowlands. However, this is far different from it.
The first story takes you on a journey to find out who these wonderful characters are and what their stories are.
It gives you the layout of the characters and the pain that they have suffered and what makes them feel and think the things they do. You will cry, laugh and want to smack most of the characters in this series but will fall in love and feel their pain as well. After reading the first book you are so intrigued you have to find out what is going on with the characters. No, it may not be a HAE but with the pain, suffering and trauma that most of these characters have been through this is their HAE! I love how Kallypso kept us involved through out the story with her expert writing and gave us the imagery to imagine our own Adam, Marc and Damien. There is slight BDSM but still emphasizes the proper consensual measurements that each party takes. Thank goodness she didn't leave us in the dark about one character while telling the story of the other, she keeps of informed about all characters even in her second book. I am definitely in love with this series! I would highly recommend and it may even help to save a relationship, just like it did mine!
     Happy Reading to you!

I found this series during the summer of 2013 and quickly fell in love.  Kallypso Masters has created heroes who are caring, dominant and Marines.  The women are also well written.
While this series does include BDSM elements, the emphasis is on the romance.  Give it a try and you may fall in love too.
