Description: This is the third edition of a classic in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. The previous edition was published in 2007.
Purpose: It covers the current scope of cardiothoracic surgery, accomplishing the daunting task of providing an essential textbook on the contemporary practice of the discipline.
Audience: It is written for practitioners in cardiothoracic surgery, but it is also an excellent resource for trainees and students engaged in this area of surgery. The editors are master surgeons of the highest authority and reputation and the individual authors are leaders in their respective disciplines.
Features: The entire field of cardiothoracic surgery is covered, including important advances in many areas, including minimally invasive surgery and advanced percutaneous approaches. Each chapter is followed by candid commentary from the editors imparting practical insight and advice.
