I really enjoyed this book. In the beginning of the series you want to hate Malpha, but you come to find out she kept her people together with little to no support. She could go been bitter and hateful about, but she embraced her new life and are helping the woman of KowLer find their dreams.
A sweet short on how Queen Malpha wins over her husband and starts the beginning of women's movement to get more freedom. The only thing is that I thought she was way too subtle sometimes, and too careful in not stepping over the shoes of her husband the king. But I guess she had to be careful in such a culture. All in all an enjoyable short!
I've read the entire series so I was a little more into the characters that had first appeared in an earlier book in the series. The lovemaking was sensual and really hot, in some respects different from Ms. Kelly's other books. I recommend the series if you like a good story. This particular book was a Valentine's Day novella so it is a lot shorter than the other full length books in the series.
The book seems to be part of a series, can be read as a stand-alone, however, the story was not so much about the two main characters as it was about a kingdom and changing the rules and restrictive traditions women were subjected to. Only 85 pages, and the two main characters spent half the book apart after they got married. Save your money.
