Overview

Book two in the Ra's Chosen series.

Set is a warrior chosen by the sun god Ra to protect mortals from the undead who hunt them. That is what he knows. Unfortunately, having watched his leader, a fellow warrior, succumb to a destined mate, Set also knows he will someday suffer the same fate. Set doesn't need nor want a mate. He's just fine on his own, thank you very much. But when a spitfire of a woman is thrust into his life, whose sole mission seems to be to knee him in the groin and escape every chance she gets, he's intrigued. A lot.

Desiree may have lusted after Set from afar for months, but that doesn't mean she's going to go willingly with the behemoth of a man spouting a whole bunch of garbage about immortality, an ancient Egyptian god and her destiny as his mate. No doubt he's two bricks short of a load. But when they touch, passion like she's never known consumes her. Perhaps he's not so crazy after all . . .

    Repeated story

I was very disappointed to find out that it was only 107 pages and that half of it was pretty much explaining what the first book already explained and the theme was almost the same as the first one. To me this book was part one just shorter with a few twicks here and there.

    Second rate

Book one...Soul hunger.. was great. This one is a quick read and to many of the same sexy scenes repeated. I felt that the scenes were just fillers. On to book three !!

    Fun but short.

I like the Egytian mythology aspect, & the warriors are hot!

The story is good but too short...

The only thing keeping me from rating this a 5 star, is that it was only 107 Nook pages, which is really short. I loved the story line, only wish the author would have made it longer.

    Sexy Read

He knows she's his destined mate, chosen by the sun god Ra himself. She thinks he's a lunatic. Can Set convince her how much he needs her?

How many blows to the groin can a man endure before giving up the chase? Unfortunately for Set, it's not just a matter of wanting what he can't have; he actually needs Desiree's blood to live. But that's something she's not willing to give. Not without a fight, anyhow. Despite her attraction, Desire refuses to believe all this "chosen warrior" and "undead" nonsense. Set is gorgeous, no doubt, but as far as she's concerned, he's crazy.

Set likes a challenge, but his patience wears thin. He can only give Desiree so much time and space before his blood hunger begins eating him from the inside out, literally. Of course, kidnapping her and locking her in his room isn't likely to change her mind. She just wants to return to her normal life, even if it is boring and without love. Sometimes though, things aren't always what they seem and the things that go bump in the night are real. It's gonna take a lot of convincing on Set's part to prove himself, and an equally amount of trust on Desiree's to open her eyes to the reality of her situation and the devotion and security she'll discover with her gorgeous Egyptian warrior.

Once again, Ms. Chenery has penned an exciting tale of Ra's Chosen. In Mate Hunger, the characters are equally as enthralling as they were in book one. You can't help but feel for Set as he struggles to convince Desiree of her importance in his life. But you'll also find yourself connecting with Desiree's feelings of defiance. After all, she's been taken and held against her will. Of course, maybe some of us wouldn't mind being her situation. You have a gorgeous man who wants to make his own for all eternity, could be worse. I loved the story and can't wait to dive into book three of Ra's Chosen.

If book one was enough to whet your whistle, then you better go ahead and get book two, Mate Hunger. Of course, if you're new to Ms. Chenery's Ra's Chosen series, don't fret, you can easily pick up with this one and not miss a thing. I must warn you though, her warriors are addicting and you'll likely find yourself wanting them all for your own.
