I purchaced this workbook for my two boys 6 weeks ago, and I'm ready to buy them the 2nd grade version. It is organized with nice clear visuals. After I explained a couple of problems in each area, they just wanted to go on their own and do the work by themselves. I couldn't be happier with the product. Was this review helpful? I bought this for my daughter, not because she was doing badly in school, but because she always wanted me to hold "class" at home. I'm fortunate that she likes school. But I wanted her to have something fun to do that would reinforce what she was learning already. I had chosen another set of "skill" books over the summer and all of the pages seemed to be the same work over and over again. My daughter got bored. I chose this Math book because it seemed to have a good assortment of practice assignments. I like that the first chapters reinforced what she already knew and then the book went right into what she was learning in first grade. We had a schedule in the beginning but that quickly faded away. She's still interested and it's a good way for us to have play time while she's showing that she's retaining her lessons from school. I would recommend this book to any parent that wants to help their child exceed in Math. An important skill to have in this technical age.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I have always been on the look out for materials to improve the curriculum I have for my boys I have tried MANY different workbooks, random websites, books, texts, programs etc, in the hopes to find the ones that worked best for my boys. I literally stumbled across this series of workbooks upon a trip to B&N in Portland, Oregon. I picked this one up just to give it a try. I am very glad I did! This workbook is very well laid out. It has excellent directions, fun pictures and covers a wealth of material. It has addition, subtraction, number sentences, beginning fractions, time, money, graphs, etc... Each topic flows smoothly to the next. In all there is 125 workbook pages. I use this workbook as the core of my math program and then supplement with other worksheets, activities, etc, as we move though the book. Please note, this isn't enough for an entire year of work, but as long as you supplement with other things, (which really is a piece of cake, as long as you follow along with the book) you will have a good year of work. Also, This would also be good as a supplement for those in public school as a good at home study workbook. I hope you will find these as usefull as I have. Was this review helpful?
