A MALLOYS OF MONTANA NOVEL
Wild Horses Couldn't Drag Him Away From Her

Raised beneath the big Montana sky, Matt Malloy was never meant to be a jet-setting businessman. But he'll do anything to protect the family ranch he shares with his brothers. Coming home after a two-week trip to Italy, Matt wants nothing more than to shed his suit and tie for a well-worn pair of jeans and ride his horse up to the cabin for some alone time. The last thing he needs is a big-city lawyer invading his privacy-even if she is the most beautiful woman he's ever seen . . .

Vanessa Kettering has devoted her life to her work. As a passionate animal rights defender, she doesn't have room for anything else. But from the moment she meets Matt, she's taken with this rugged cowboy's lazy smile and tender touch. When a raging storm traps them inside his cabin for the night, one steamy kiss leads to another, sweeping them away with a force that's as wild and untamed as the land he loves. But when the morning light comes, will she lose her heart?

The beguiling first novel in the Malloys of Montana contemporary series from Ryan (a pen name for Ruth Ryan Langan) depicts the lure of the mountains as a Chicago lawyer falls for a handsome rancher. Matt Malloy meets Vanessa Kettering when she comes to his ranch in Montana to interview his family about protecting the local wild mustangs. Matt and Nessa’s attraction heats up after a storm forces them to spend a night alone together in his mountain cabin. When her prosecutor father fears that a high-profile criminal will attack Nessa to get at him, the Malloy family offers to keep Nessa safe at their ranch. With more time together, Matt and Nessa succumb to the romantic tension simmering between them, and Nessa quickly becomes enamored with Matt’s grandmother’s quest to photograph the wild horses. As danger closes in on Nessa, Matt uses all his resources to keep her safe, even as he begins to fall in love. Touching and romantic, Ryan’s portrayal of a city slicker falling for a cowboy delves into the depths of each of their personalities to find common ground in their love for the land. Readers will eagerly anticipate future installments. (May)

You know that moment when you finally pick up a book by that author who’s covers regularly catch your eye and then kick yourself, repeatedly, for not doing it sooner? For me, that was this novel. I read this book from cover to cover in a single sitting, completely riveted throughout. Ryan writes so naturally. Everything comes to life in a way that allowed me to walk through this fantastically picturesque setting and become a part of the tale. The story was both suspenseful and full of romance. The characters were vividly real and completely endearing. I love how we got to know all of the characters well while the story of the main characters shone through strong. This is one novel that is a must read for all those who enjoy a bit of suspense with their romance, for those who enjoy romance so deep and sizzling that it makes your toes curl, and for those who love a good cowboy to drool over. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Matt Malloy has just spent two weeks abroad traveling and working and is looking forward to returning to his roots, where he belongs and is most comfortable... he has a log cabin calling his name and he can't wait to get to it, and enjoy the peace and tranquility that only ranch life can provide. But his plan to submerse himself into nature just hit a little snag... a snag in the form of a beautiful city girl in dire need of help. The last thing Matt wants to do is get tangled up in her problems, but when your Gram issues an order you hop to, and do as she says... Vanessa Kettering knows she is completely out of her element the minute she arrives in Montana, but she knows in order to accomplish what she has set out to do she must embrace it to the best of her abilities. Coming the the Malloy ranch and seeking their help in her mission to save the wildlife she so desperately wants to protect is her sole focus...that is until she set her sights on the rugged and oh so sexy cowboy sent to meet with her!! After reading the synopsis for this story I instantly knew it was a story I HAD to read, the mere mention of Matt Malloy and I was intrigued and dying to get better acquainted with him. A couple pages into his story and the man had my undivided attention and had me on mission to discover what I hoped to be was his well deserved happily ever after, and I am happy to report I found that and SO much more! (Most importantly more Malloy Men to acquaint myself with!!) It has been a while since I have read a story from this author, and after a few pages into it, I was quickly reminded why I enjoy her books so much, her well crafted, and oh so dreamy, cowboys always find a into your heart and leave you fully satisfied!! If you like small town western romance stories, with a handsome cowboy at the helm than look no further, Ms. Ryan's cowboys are just what you need, they are sure to leave with a happy heart and a smile on your face!!

R.C. Ryan's characters blend in well with the setting for this story. Passionate, rugged, adventurous are adjectives that describe the title character. His love of the lands drives him and like an ache has embedded itself in his soul. Matt comes from a family of strong men that put their blood, sweat and tears into a life that is built on taking care of the people they love and the terrain that they've claimed. Nessa is a city girl through and through with an equally inspiring love of nature but not a full understanding of what it takes to survive in the country. I received a copy of Matt in exchange for an honest review. Matt and Nessa had the undercurrents of chemistry from their first interaction. I do like where the story is going and am glad I got the chance to experience this author for the first time.
