    Devotional in character, this commentary clarifies the ordinary meaning of all passages in the Bible for both the beginner and the intermediate student of the Bible.

    It is very helpful to find in one hardcover volume all six volumes written by Matthew Henry in his Commentary on all the books of the Bible. For the Bible student who wants to gain a deeper devotional knowledge of the Bible and grow in his understanding of the Bible's application to life, this book merits considerable attention. For Bible study teacher and preacher alike, this Commentary will be an invaluable tool in his library of Commentaries. Conservative in style and theological approach to the Bible, the author makes clear sense of many difficult passages. He also provides copious analogies and written illustrations of Biblical truths. At the same time, many readers of this inspiring work will find that Henry's Commentary not only explains many Biblical passages aptly and lucidly, but also, being true to the spirit of the Bible, challenges the reader to improve his devotion to the Lord God whom the Bible reveals.

    Excellent!

    Don't be fooled by the fact that this has a smaller pricetag; the links in this version are very well done! This is a great commentary adapted very well to ebook form. The only con is the annoying cover page. :)

    LOVE THIS!!

    This is my absolute favorite commentary. Generally easy to understand and extremely thorough. My understanding of the Bible has deepened so much since getting this and now I can hardly imagine studying the Bible without wondering what Matthew Henry wrote about the passage. I also love that I can look up the words I don't understand instantly on the nook. If you are looking for a great commentary definitely get this. It is worth so much more than the .99 I paid for it!!

    Highly Recommended

    After using this commentary for awhile, I am absolutely sold on the content. I need a dictionary to follow some of the brilliant vocabulary, but not to worry. While reading, one can easily look up a word right where you are on the nook. Just press "look up word." B&N's price for this is more than a bargain at $.99.

    THis commentary on the bible is so FANTASTIC, I purchased the hard back books years ago but the fact that I can search this electronic copy for a specific word and the reading is so fluid. It could not be better.

    I found that it was very flowery and subjective. Old world language and of course only covered what the man wanted to learn, not what real people in this day and age are trying to get out of it.
