I found this book to be very informative and helpful when making decisions about what sights to see or restaurants to eat at on Maui. I was using the 2nd Edition with a copyright date of 2004. There was only one piece of information that I found needed updating. It was regarding the capability for two way conversations with the pilot on Blue Hawaian helicopter tours. The book says that they did not have this feature which in fact is not true. We flew Blue Hawaian, which recently added a fleet of 10 new Eco Stars, and they all have two way conversations through the headphones. Also, the restaurant reviews were right on.

We found this to truly be the Ultimate Guidebook to Maui, at the start of the trip I would check it and our traveling companions teased me, by the middle of the week before going anywhere, everyone was asking 'what does the guidebook say...' Great detailed information on what to see and do as well as what to avoid. Made all the difference in many adventures ESPECIALLY the road to Hana.

If you are looking for a book on Maui this is the one to get. It has a plethora of information. If you are staying in Kihei their is a restaurant called Da Kitchen, it is very good and very inexpensive. You must try the Mac Salad. Skip Bada Bing in Kihei, it isn't that good. My friends and I tried to go to Hana, but didn't make it all the way there. We were following the stops the book suggested, but we didn't seem to find them. I would ask the hotel workers for more information on the trip to Hana. The posted speed limit is 15mph, which I think I was the only one going between 15-20mph, everyone else was going faster. So if you don't want to be flipped off or honked at, I would suggest going with the flow of traffic, but what you feel safe with. Anyway...the book was very helpful in deciding beaches, restaurants and activities.

This was a very disappointing book. Many of the sites it showcases are CLOSED or out of business. It would be greatly improved if they would put an errata slip in every copy so tourists aren't misled. We ended up using the 101 Things to do guide that was distributed free at the activity desk of our hotel.

Guided me through the natural hidden beauties of the island. People that has traveled there w/a different book in there hands didn't even know places that I've encountered on the island. Highly recommended!

I would recommend this book to anyone traveling to Maui...first time visitors and even kamainas. There are so many interesting finds and places to see in the book, usually just off the beaten path that you would never notice otherwise. We bookmarked everyhting in the book we wanted to see and didn't have time for it all and want to travel back to Maui just to finish off our adventures. Many of the sites noted in this book you can often times see on your way to other bigger more touristy activities. Well written directions are also provided through out. Great book and maps too! (D+R)

I found Maui Revealed The Ultimate Guidebook to be out of date in many instances. They need to put a slip of corrections in all the books they ship out for 2004.

This really came in handy on our honeymoon in Hawaii. It was like having a Native Hawaiian giving us the 'inside-scoop' on where to go for entertainment, food, and sight-seeing. I recommend this book to anyone going to Maui!

We went to Maui in July (the busiest time of year). Using this book we were still able to find secluded waterfalls and beaches where we were totally alone. There dining reviews were dead on and their descriptions of activities were perfectly accurate. It is a must buy for a Maui vacation.

I've been to Maui five times and this is the best Maui Guide book by far.The new Insiders guide to Maui,which I recently bought,is far less usefull.I also have Frommers,Fodders and Lonely Planet guides. None are as good as Maui Revealed

What we liked least about this book was the format. We were constantly flipping from one section to the next trying to find out where we were geographically. The book is badly in need of an editor. Less wordiness and more factual content is really needed. The only positive aspect was the book's price.

This guide book was excellent I truly recommend anyone going to Maui for the first time or even the hundredth time to use this book. There were so may hidden place that the book describes that we had to ourselves. Everything from private waterfalls to secluded freshwater pools. I give this book a 10 out of 10.
