In this instalment of Bodyguards Inc, we meet Max - the young, fresh-faced bodyguard who is charged with looking after a Prince three years his junior. The Prince (Luke/Lucian) has been getting some very strange letters - ranging from friendly to sinister. It is Max's job to ensure that Lucian is able to finish his final year at Cardiff University without mishap. Of course, things would be easier if he didn't have a friend in need and a drug dealer to contend with. This is the lightest book so far of the series, with Max seeming a bit distant from Kyle and Ross. Don't get me wrong, the job still gets done, but there just seemed to be 'something' missing but I'll be danged if I know what. Also, I'm not entirely sure how the letter sender managed to do what he did and see what he saw when I thought he lived elsewhere. Still, that is by-the-by and this is still a wonderful book, full of amazing characters and a storyline to sink your teeth into. Definitely recommended by me. Hot Bodyguard + Shy Prince = I Love It! Max and the Prince is book #3 in the Bodyguards, Inc. series but stands completely on its own, too. I think this series will end up being one of my favorites in the M/M genre. Max isn’t too sure about being assigned as a bodyguard to royalty but his young looks and shorter stature make him the perfect fit for the job. He needs to blend in with the college students where Prince Lucien (known as Luke at school) is attending classes. Luke’s royal bodyguard, Teddy, takes one look at Max and declares him not suitable to guard Prince Lucien. Max very quickly changes his mind in a delicious way. Lucien isn’t out as a prince at school and there’s no way he will have Teddy following him around; he needs someone like Max. Prince Lucien is used to being in difficult situations. Despite having a title his family isn’t wealthy and watching his younger brother die from leukemia at age 12 taught him to keep a stoic mask in place when in public. Coming out to his family didn’t happen in the best way either. While they didn’t disown him he had to agree to certain terms after they found out. Max finds himself drawn to this young man. Luke’s ability to keep his mask in place in public is admirable. When he learns how a stalker has been threatening Luke he wants to help keep him safe. R.J. Scott has once again blended a suspenseful story-line with characters the reader can’t help but care about. There are a many possible suspects for who is threatening Lucien and I was kept in suspense until all was revealed. The story also contains a bit of humor and wit along with the suspense and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. While it’s not a long and involved story it’s just the right length for an evening of reading. The sex scenes between Max and Luke aren’t bad either. This book gives us another glimpse of Kyle and Ross; the owner of Bodyguards, Inc. and his PA. Their book is next in this series and I can’t wait to read it. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

Another great series by Miss Scott. Even though each story is a standalone with the exception of characters being mentioned in passing or cameos, I'm writing an overall series review and each book easily deserves a 5 bookmark rating. Many of us have some kind of bodyguard fantasy and with Bodyguards, Inc the reader gets a peak into the life of the occupation. Each book has a little bit of everything, mystery, intrigue, drama, love, with definite levels of hotness throughout. You might be thinking that what you have here is the Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston movie Bodyguard with a gay twist, the truth is there are some similar elements but really, this series has so much more depth and appeal with every page. Some say that relationships that are born during times of crisis and danger are not always everlasting but I think relationships, be it friends or lovers, can be built at any time and in these tales the author shows us how true it can really be.
