The use of oil painting over scratchboard used in this picture book won't be to everyone's taste but I liked it because it is different. The various perspectives added to the excellent text. I also liked the positive portrayal of the father. I loved the ending! Definitely a book we want in our classroom collection. I would definitely read more by this author and would have read these to my own children. The image displayed for this book makes the soft colors look more garish than they are. BTW: The larger editions show the illustrations better than the smaller sizes. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
