Max viaja a Júpiter: Una aventura de ciencias con el perro Max
Scientifically-accurate illustrations and information-packed sidebars enrich this fascinating tale, the third in this acclaimed series about diversity and space exploration. Set in the future, Max the Dog's friend Tori is all grown up and is the chief scientist of the Jupiter Mission. In order to reach their spacecraft, Max and his crew must take an amazing ride on a new device called the Space Elevator. Once they've probed the planet's atmosphere, Max and friends begin exploring two of Jupiter's moons—the volcanically active moon Io and the ice-encrusted moon Europa. On Europa, Max once again saves the day by locating a weak spot in the ice to launch a submarine and explore the ocean below.

About the Author

Michael Carroll is well known for his space art, which has appeared in magazines including National Geographic, Time, Smithsonian, Scientific American, Sky & Telescope, Astronomy, and others. His work has also appeared in more than 20 books. One of his paintings is on the surface of Mars—in digital form—in a DVD “time capsule” on the deck of the Phoenix lander. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists and recipient of the Lucien Rudaux award for lifetime achievement in the astronomical arts. Dr. Erica Ellingson is a professor of astrophysics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she specializes in extragalactic astronomy, cosmology and archaeoastronomy. Astrophysicist/educator Jeffrey Bennett, a winner of the American Institute of Physics Science Communication Award, is the author of leading college textbooks in astronomy, astrobiology, mathematics, and statistics and of more than a dozen books for children and the public. Seven of his books have been launched into space, including six children's books selected for NASA's Story Time From Space Program, in which astronauts read books aloud from the International Space Station and videos are posted freely for anyone in the world to watch at storytimefromspace.com. Among other endeavors, Dr. Bennett served as a Visiting Senior Scientist at NASA Headquarters in the early 1990s, where he led efforts to forge stronger links between the research and education communities, and he proposed and co-led development of the Voyage Scale Model Solar System on the National Mall in Washington, DC. He is also the creator of the app "Totality by Big Kid Science," which helps people understand and plan trips to see total solar eclipses. Nick Schneider is a professor of planetary science at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research has focused on Jupiter and Mars. He is also co-Principal Investigator on NASA's MAVEN mission to Mars. He is one of the authors of The Cosmic Perspective, the world's bestselling textbooks for introductory astronomy, with more than 1 million copies sold.
