I really love the maximum ride seriez, but this book conflicts with some of the ideas at the end of the last book, and it honestly reads like the final warning, which was my least favorite of the series....It has some good closing information for the series but overall I'm more than half done and I'm really rather board.....

I'm so happy with the ending! Sad it had to end. I love this series so much. I will reread this many times through the years.

People have been commenting spoilers and that is wrong. I like to read a book without being told who lives and who dies. Be careful venturing on in the comments.

I dont know why i even botherd with this book as nevermore was so poorly written and boring. But i though i would give it a try anyway and it is pretty much the same as nevermore. The few action scenes there were were poorly written and boring and the general plot was just not exciting. And the book is overall poorly written this series really should have stopped after book 3 because all the books after that are bull.

I'm confused. I thought NEVERMORE was the last in the series? Based on reviews I've read here, I'm debating if I should get this book. Does it really add anything to the series? Input would be greatly appreciated.

I have been a follower of the maximum ride for quite some time. I remember my excitement when angel came out and my elation when nevermore was published. I picked this book out of habit, and was confused on who was dead or alive in the book. The ending was worth the read, but the rest of the book was not a wonderful read.

In two words, expectedly disappointing. I've been reading this series for the better half of a decade, and I've gotta say, the quality of the stories has gone down exponentially with every book after the third. I'm more than halfway through "Forever" and as a writer myself i'm a bit appalled by how sloppy and scatterbrained the plot is. Character motives are left unexplained, plot holes large and small are simply ignored, and it constantly feels there are scenes missing between each chapter which leaves me confused about what's even happening anymore. It's as if Patterson put random plot ideas on a dart board, closed his eyes and threw. I also found the writing very preachy about going green and saving the planet. While I'm all for that, if that's to be the overreaching theme of the series, then it needs to be more subtle, in my opinion. As it is, in the book it's about as subtle as a brick to the face and distracts from what's happening in the story. I have a lot of respect for James Patterson, really I do, but I don't think he handled this series as well as it deserves.

Series was stretched too far

I didn't have high hopes for this book, which was a good thing. I didn't know what was going on half the time, and I never knew if someone was actually dead or not. If you've read the books Maximum Ride is based on, When the Wind Blows and The Lake House, you will recognize one of the tactics he uses near the end (I'll give you a hint: its from The Lake House and involved a boy, a girl, death, and life). The last ten chapters (and I'm being generous) were the best. If I could, I'd give this book half a star.

This series was one of the few that i have like in a while. I started maximum ide in th begining and loved this ending. I am a little dissapointed that this series ended along with witch and wizard and daniel x but they have to end sometime. This was one of the best books i have ever read.

I always thought this series didnt have the best writing but i just love the characters, especially Fang! This series was totally worth it, i read all of the books a second time too. I liked how this ended. I would definatly recommend this book for anyone who has dreamed of soaring!

Tell them to meet me at a wolf at the door. They'll know what to do, and you know who I am. I am the next Hermes.

I thought I had high hopes for this book, as a reader who's been following this series for years. But really, after the fourth installment, I felt like the series was stretched and from there on forth, and wasn't as well written as the first three books. Yet I just had to choose this book, curious as to how the series would end, and confused, as I recalled Nevermore was supposed to be the last of the series. This book by far was one of the most disappointing. Killing off characters left and right - it's alright at times, in my opinion, should be used sparingly. Especially if the scenes aren't that good. The deaths were rushed and sudden, characters were changing out of nowhere, their motives unexplained, and the plot, oh the plot. Holes, holes everywhere! /// Spoiler: Read to your heart's content Along with sudden character appearances (talkin' about you, Jeb. Same goes to Fang's old team) and questionable science methods (I'm not much of scientist, but I'm sure killing yourself doesn't give your life force to someone else), out of them all, the one, the only, Max's pregnancy! Whoa! A baby! BUT. How old is she? Correct me if I'm wrong, but she's 16. Getting all up there and snu-snu'ing couldn't have been the best idea in the apocalypse
