The works of St. Maximus the Confessor are, of course, exceptional theological works. Almost all the texts contained in this book are also in the Philokalia (Faber & Faber) with a MUCH better translation, except the Mystagogy. My main purpose in writing this review is to alert the potential buyer to be careful if you are looking for the hardcover version. I was excited to have found this book in hardcover, ordered it, and was disappointed to see it arrive as paperback. If you are wanting the hardcover version, you might want to contact the seller first to verify they actually carry the hardcover rather than the paperback.
