The book is an excellent merger between a romantic novel, mystery and philosopy, in this case natural and evolutionary philosophy. I strongly recomend this book as one of Jostein's many masterpieces. An exceptional start to a long lived love with Jostein's writing.

This book is just like you expect Gaarders books to be. It is highly educational but also entertaining. He doesn't let you in the whole storry untill you get close to the end. So that you just have to keep reading it untill you're done and solved all the misteries.

Philosophy, religion, science, myth, theology, and creation stories clipped in one book and creates a very fantastic novel.
