Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The kids are drawing pictures at the community center and the director Mrs. Temple comments on how bare the walls are. Well, that is all it takes for Maya to leap into action—all those who use the center can participate in creating a huge mural for the wall. As the adults and kids start working, problems arise with conflicting ideas and overlapping wall space, and the activity ends up in a free-for- all paint fight. Maya once again steps in and gets people to cooperate and the result is a mural that reflects the various interests—and it is the result of teamwork. Fans will once again see how Maya's ideas and leadership rescue the day. The back page contains an ad for Maya &Miguel Music favorites. A Level 3 reader in the "Scholastic Reader" series.
