This is one of the most well written books that I have read EVER! I love the rich characters and I feel that both the love interests in the book are well deserving of Ellery and that it was good for her to leave them both to discover herself first. I am excitedly looking forward to the next two installments.

In the Spotlight is the first book in a three part series called Mayne Attraction by Ann Mauren.
I want to start by saying that there will not always be positive reviews on this blog. At some point or another there will come a book I just didn't like. I just wanted to get that point across before I tell you how much I LOVED this book!
Romance might not always be my first pick, but a good coming of age novel with a complicated love triangle always gets a top spot on my list. :P
As far as love triangles go this one is pretty complicated and really detailed.
There were a few points there where I was just like will they just kiss already and get it over with??? But it was worth the wait and very amusing. I really liked the overly charming manner in which Ash and Gray speak to Ellery (especially Ash)
The most interesting aspect is also the book's drawl. It almost had me looking over my shoulder thinking 'I wonder if there is a totally hot and really nice stalker watching my every move, who is consequently in love with me.' But of course my life isn't interesting enough for someone to stalk me.or is it? (OK shutting down my inner fantasy now and getting back to the review)
There is this scene in the book where Ellery is describing Bill Bryson's work. She uses the term 'It's like the literary version of carrots in carrot cake.' Now I don't actually like carrots in carrot cake so here's how I'll describe In the Spotlight by Ann Mauren.
It's like chocolate cheesecake with extra pieces of chocolate on top. In simpler terms YUM!!!
I was very satisfied with the ending. The ending actually made the whole book. It was somehow exceedingly rewarding to see Ellery stand on her own two feet, and make her own decisions.
I really enjoyed this book and think it's worth a read.

I loved it so much! The humor that is worked in is fanominal! The end is by far my favorite part in any book. Get it while its free and waiting for Smoke to come out.

This book is all about personal growth and strength of character development while a young women learns about first and forever love. It is so unique in presentation, internal dialogue tells the story, and spot on for a girl's brain chatter. Which makes it even more of a surprise that i was fully engaged the entire novel. But it is pure evil not to have part two ready in the wings, and part three with a release date. Congrats on a success, don't make us wait too long! And for heavens sake charge something, you have earned it!!!

I cant believe that this book was free! It was 819 pgs! It was a fantastic book. And i liked how there wasnt any sex or bad words....a great love story. I could not put the nook down. I felt like i knew the main chatacer. All in all, it was a fantastic book.

I did not have high expectations for this book,which was free in the Nook store. My sole reason for beginning this book was to kill some time; however, the book captured my attention from the beginning and I finished it in one day! It more than exceeded my expectations in fact it became one of my favorite books and I am so excited ti read the next two. The main characters are all lovable and the story line is intriguing. As soon as I finished I suggested it to my sister and after she read it she loved it as much as I did;now we both lie in wait for the next two.

I read this book up to about 300 pages and absolutely nothing happened. I kept on waiting and waiting for something major to happen but nothing did. I think the author was focused on little details that the reader didnt need to know about but you never know, maybeby the end of the book on the 817pg those details did matter but I coyldnt suffer through all the way until then. So you never know there could have been a pretty good ending.

This book was soooooo sweet and amazing. I laughed cried and had butterflies from time to time. I was surprised that this book was free i mean seriously it was so clearly and well written! I cant wait for the next book "In the Shadow" Its gonna be even more great i bet. I totally reccomend this book for people who love sweet and believably realistic love stories. I hope you guys love this book as much as i did :)

This book is pretty good for a free book i loved it very good ending and yes even though the girl was a jerk and way to young u cant help but enjoy every single page. You have to be a super reader for this one though

Drage out for way longer than it needed to. I got bored with it. Too many small details. But in the end it wad just okay.

This was an amazing book! I couldn't put it down! Every time I thought one thing would happen, something else would happen that completely surprised me! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a book on romance with a bit of mystery and hard choices.
