John McDougall, M.D., is the author of many previous books, including The McDougall Program, The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss, and The New McDougall Cookbook. He is the founder and director of the McDougall Program at St. Helena Hospital in Napa Valley, California, and has a nationally syndicated television show as well as a weekly radio program.  He lives in Santa Rosa, California.

This is a great book, most of the recipes are very easy to make, but the more important thing is that you wont believe how good you will feel after a week of eating these dishes. I have lost 30lbs, I'm off my cholesterol, blood pressure, and kidney stone medication. I have been eating these dishes strictly for almost 5 months. The amazing thing is, I don't count calories, I just eat when I'm hungry. I never thought that anything could have such an effect on my health. The book isn't advertised as anything but a Cookbook, but believe me, it is far more. BUY THIS BOOK!!! Eat these recipes, and feel the best you have ever felt!
