Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Microsoft’s MCSA/MCSE Exam 70-291 prep guide is authoritative, readable, and -- like other books in Microsoft’s Self-Paced Training Kit series -- exceptionally well organized. It also covers everything Redmond’s ever likely to ask you about Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure.

Part I’s “Learn at Your Own Pace” chapters each start with a pithy, quick “Why This Chapter Matters” section (a terrific idea). Each chapter’s modular, bite-size lessons are reinforced by case scenario exercises, troubleshooting labs, and summaries of key takeaways. Part II, “Prepare for the Test,” is tightly focused test prep: authoritative lists of what you need to know, backed with realistic questions to make sure you know it.

Don’t have a copy of Windows Server handy? Microsoft’s provided a 120-day eval version. (And don’t forget to use the 15% exam discount coupon to help pay for this book.) Bill Camarda, from the June 2006 Read Only

    Server 2003 MCSE 70-291

I had read through the 70-290 Server 2003 book from Microsoft as well, and found this book equally as useful (which is very useful)! This book continues one along the path to achieving either the MCSA or MCSE. Not for general readers, this book builds upon a more in-depth look at networking with the Windows Server 2003. A companion CD is also given with this book, which is helpful with the study guide. The evaluation CD gives ample time to go through the book and learn it inside out. Very structured and easy to grasp material is presented. In my opinion, this is THE BOOK to get for self-based training for this exam. Happy Studying!!
