Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Business intelligence (BI) has long been one of SQL Server's strong points. As part of Microsoft's MCTS program, Exam 70-445 focuses specifically on implementing and maintaining SQL Server 2005's BI capabilities. Now, Microsoft's released a superb 70-445 study kit.

It systematically covers all three similarly named core technologies on the exam: SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS); Reporting Services (SSRS); and Integration Services (SSIS). Installation, configuration, deployment, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery are all covered here. So are technical skills you need for the "business" part of BI: working with KPIs, setting up data mining, and creating effective reports.

As with Microsoft's other Self-Paced Training Kits, there are plenty of realistic scenarios, case studies, and labs, plus hundreds of well-crafted questions on CD-ROM, plus all the trial software you'll need. And, when you're ready for the exam, don't forget to use the discount coupon inside. Bill Camarda, from the October 2007 Read Only
