    A reviewer

Really good book for Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0 reference. Easy to read with good examples. But learning everything in this book WILL NOT prepare you to pass the 70-528 exam. I worked through the entire book, and then began using the practice CD. I scored in the 80 percentile range and worked my way up to score in the ninenties. I figured I was ready to pass the exam. I took the 70-528 exam and didn't even score 50 percent. The real exam questions are very different, far harder, and some even pertain to things not in this book. You can learn a lot from this book -- but it's a total fraud that it is being marketed as a 'self-paced training kit' since it in no way prepares you for the exam. The difficulty of the questions on the practice CD ought to match that of the actual exam. And everything covered on the exam ought to be in the book. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Also of note is that the authors display some C# examples in the VB style -- for consistency they say -- but what should be brackets are often parens and what should be lowercase is often capitalized. Not really a good practice in training materials, hmmm ...
