Overview

The second book in the Mean Streets Series, it is a brutally honest and unconventional account of life in the South African Police Force (1985-1991) in the years before Mr Nelson Mandela was released from jail. This one recalls the Author's time on the mean streets of South Africa dealing with violent crime, political uprising and counter terrorism. The South African Police Force had nothing in common with the "Bobby on the street or a Sheriff's Department" but was one of the most feared police forces in the world. Though not everyone will agree with the contents, it is fun to read.

Feedback from Readers:
"I've just finished reading your book, excellent read, I really enjoyed it. It has also given me new respect for my step father who was in the SAP dog unit and on the border. Thank you."

"Makes the world of a policeman come to life. Brilliant expose of what it really feels like to have been part of the SAP during the years of apartheid. The author is painstakingly honest about his emotions and experiences during that time. A must read"

"I have just finished reading Mean Streets and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice to read about what happened behind the scenes so to speak. I feel that the SAP always gets a bad rap but then again, no-one really knows what they have to deal with on a daily basis. Keep writing and I will keep reading."

"An excellent on the ground police story. Highly recommended."

"This is not your usual troepie book but a thoughtful insight on life inside the SAP during Apartheid."

"Loved the book K. Brought back so many memories. Absolutely worth the read."

"Would like to get a hold of Mr. Kotze via email? I'm busy reading Mean Streets and loving it. Keep up the GREAT work."
