Meet the Author

Timothy Keller was born and raised in Pennsylvania and educated at Bucknell University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was first a pastor in Hopewell, Virginia. In 1989 he started Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan with his wife, Kathy, and their three sons. Today, Redeemer has more than five thousand regular Sunday attendees, plus the members of more than one hundred new churches around the world. Also the author of King's Cross, Generous Justice, The Prodigal God, and the New York Times bestseller The Reason for God, he lives in New York with his family.

    Has Very Thoughtful Nuggets

    CONS:
    Last half the book is footnotes. Overall, it's common sense & common knowledge.

    PROS:
    Has a number of thoughtful nuggets that can be if you truly reflect on can be revealing into yourself or a relationship. I'm keeping mine on my Nook for all the highlights.

    The best book on the spiritual meaning of marriage we have every read. We are reommending it to our friends and family and my husband is using it in his male mentoring ministry.

    In this book, Keller helps couples to see marriage as God sees marriage. He encourages couples to work at marriage realizing that it is a covenant relationship between two people and God. Couples are encouraged to have their mutual goal that of drawing each other closer to the throne of God.
