RAHM FAMA grew up on a ranch in Santa Fe and cooked his way through Austin, Phoenix, Scottsdale, New York, Colorado Springs, and St. Lucia, and most recently was the executive chef of The Lodge at Vail. He is the corporate chef at US Foods, the nation’s leading food distributor, and he regularly teaches cooking classes. Rahm was the host of Food Network’s primetime show Meat & Potatoes. He lives in Southern California.

Meat and Potatoes by Rahm Fama with Beth Dooley I adored this book. My husband and I are both 'meat and potatoes' people and this book was great at helping me find other ways to make the meat and potatoes. I was so excited to be getting this book because meat and potatoes are the main ingredients for most meals. The book itself is exquisitely put together. The cover is inviting and almost makes you instantaneously hungry. Now, that we've talked about the book as a whole, let's take a look inside. The recipes are separated into six categories: beef, pork, chicken & turkey, lamb, game, and one-pot favorites. Each section has several recipes and the recipes are easy to read and understand. There are definitely more than a few that I can't wait to try, however there are a few that I almost salivate when I see the picture because they look so delicious. One of the ones that makes me want to salivate is the 5-B Burger with Smoked Paprika Parsnip Fries and Asparagus with Mint Hollandaise (p. 35). Now, I'm not a big fan of parsnip of asparagus, but this burger looks so delicious that I'd give the other things a try. I mean doesn't that look absolutely amazing? This book is wonderful and will really help with not knowing how you want to make your favorite meat and potatoes. My suggestion is that this cookbook should be in everyone's kitchen. It's definitely a keeper for me.
Meat and Potatoes by Rahm Fama is amazing! It’s not just your everyday cookbook. You can definitely make any recipe with just ordinary ingredients right in your kitchen! Stay tuned to find out more about this delicious cookbook! I’ll start like always with the cover. The cover will make your mouth water! It is so appetizing. The backside is just as equally appetizing. The back features four small thumbnails of delicious recipes from this cookbook. I really love the colors and fonts chose for this book on the inside and out. The only thing about the cover I can fault is it isn’t hardcover. I really love my hardcover cookbooks, however, I will most definitely make an exception for this cookbook any day of the year! The cookbook features 52 recipes that are simple, delicious and unique. The photographs of the dishes are very high quality and professional. The photographs will absolutely make you want to cook that dish! One recipe that I am so eager to try out is, Rahm’s Childhood Corn Chip Pie, it looks so beyond delicious and it calls for ordinary ingredients, nothing I can’t purchase at my local store if I didn’t already have them. I love how each food has it’s own section which makes it easier to find what recipe you are looking for. It also features an index at the end of the book. Overall, this cookbook is an awesome one to have in your collection and kitchen. Rahm puts things together that you wouldn’t have thought of yourself.
