The concluding section gives a survey of the work on Indian writing that has greatly increased in the German academy. The conclusion ends with a bibliography of German criticism on Indian writing.

Bernd-Peter Lange is professor at the Institute for Foreign Philology at the University of Magdeburg (Germany). Mala Pandurang is head of the Department of English at the B.M.N College of Home Science in Mumbai (India).
