About the Author

Calvin R. Brunner, P.E., DEE: Mr. Brunner is an active environmentalist seeking to advance waste disposal to a clean technology rather than an obtuse art. He has had direct participation in the clean-up of dozens of waste streams and discharges throughout the United States and overseas. Through his writing and teaching he has been indirectly responsible for the clean-up of hundreds, if not thousands of solid, liquid, sludge and gaseous waste streams and accumulations throughout the world. A consulting engineer in private practice, President of the specialty engineering firm INCINERATOR CONSULTANTS INCORPORATED, Mr. Brunner has over 35 years experience in the area of waste disposal, and has written twelve other books on the subject. Mr. Brunner is a Mechanical Engineer with a BME from the City College of New York and a MEng from the Pennsylvania State University. He is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in three states, is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (DEE) and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Mr. Brunner presents seminars on waste disposal in the United States and overseas and has spoken to technical and non-technical audiences in promoting the safe disposal of wastes.

Timothy D. Van Epp, AICP, PMP: Mr. Van Epp has a BS in Zoology from Duke University and a Master of Regional Planning (MRP) from the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and Project Management Institute (PMP). He also has a certification in Real Estate Development from the Urban Land institute. Bringing 25 years of professional experience, including nearly 15 years working throughout Eurasia, he founded and serves as Managing Director of Eurasia Environmental Associates (EEA). EEA provides environmental consulting and sustainable project development services for a variety of clients in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Ukraine, Central Asia, and Mongolia and China. Services include environmental impact assessment, pollution prevention, environmental auditing, environmental management systems and hazardous waste management. Mr. Van Epp is a specialist in the development of centralized, regional hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities including planning, site selection, environmental assessment, permitting, public participation, operations manuals, and financing, His association with Mr. Brunner extends for over 15 years.
