From The CriticsReviewer: Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences)
Description: This is an update of a clinical review book formatted in a Socratic question and answer manner. The previous edition was published in 2009.
Purpose: This is a review for U.S. medical students preparing for the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Clinical Knowledge Step 2. As such, the format is clearly designed to present questions and allow readers to think and answer before presenting the correct answer with a detailed description why.
Audience: This has a rather limited audience, i.e., U.S. medical students studying for the USMLE examination.
Features: The book has 500 questions most commonly found on the examination, arranged by traditional organ systems.
Assessment: This is a worthwhile study guide, but it should not be the only resource for preparation.
