The perfect guide for medieval hands

For each script you get its history, related european history, reasons for its construction and subsequent disuse, explanations and exmplars of its form, techniques on using it, and variations on its construction. Its not too long; its not a history book. Its everything you need to know if you are not only interested in medieval hands, but also some of the history about them. I would recommend this book as the perfect instructional text for someone who is beyond the basics in calligraphy (e.g. knows how to use the pen properly, can be fairly consistent) and wants to learn medieval hands.

Medieval Calligraphy is an outstanding book and guide

I enjoy reading this book. I am using it to write illuminated manuscripts.
With this book's help I can select the appropriate calligraphy for the time frame I want to imitate.
