When I was a teacher of 4th and 5th graders, I always had titles by Keith Baker (The Magic Fan, The Dove's Letter, Elephants Aloft) in my classroom library and often incorporated them into writing and social studies lessons. Now that I am an elementary school teacher-librarian, I have had the pleasure of discovering ALL of Keith Baker's books. They are all outstanding, but his books for primary students are simply stellar! He has an incredible ability to engage readers of all ages. The Mr. and Mrs. Green series, in particular, is just perfect! He incorporates characters that are instantly lovable whose adventures provide lessons involving (just to name a few) math, responsiblity, sharing and the importance of having fun. The "Green Books" are our highest-circulating books for grades K-3. They are my most highly-recommended books for emerging readers. Not only are they engaging and well-written, they are a delight to read. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
