An outstanding devotional. Easy to read, easy to understand. Scripture and commentary are all there so a busy reader doesn't have to look up scripture references. I recommend this book for both new believers and those who have been in the faith for a lifetime. The scripture is arranged chronologically and the commentary is very well written. I will read this book over and over again.

Meet the Bible is my all-time favorite daily reading devotional. While not a verbatim rendering of the Bible, events are summarized in chronological order giving a wonderful panorama of the entire Bible. The commentary after each daily reading explains the times in which the events took place and creates relevance for today. The weekly reflection pulls it all together. Every day leaves me with clarified thinking and life application. I especially like the way each day is numbered rather than dated because I don't feel hopeless if I get behind. I have given many copies for gifts and always have positive feedback.

This is a wonderfully non-intimidating method of going through the Bible. It is NOT a complete Bible, nor is it meant to be. It whets the appetite for more, however. Each day has a chronologically correct selection of the Bible (not necessarily in the same order as the books of the Bible). After the selection there is an explanation/amplification and personal devotion. Once a week there is a reflection. This is a must for every new believer, or those who just want a good refresher-type reader.
