Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Paulette Bell
This book is about meeting your neighbors in the neighborhood. Daniel Tiger lives in the neighborhood on Jungle Beach with his parents. Daniel Tiger introduces his neighborhood friends Katerina Kittycat and her mother Henrietta Pussycat, who live in a treehouse. Another friend lives in the tree, too. It’s O the Owl and he loves to read and learn. There is also a castle in the neighborhood where Daniel Tiger’s friend Prince Wednesday lives with his big brother, Prince Tuesday, and their parents, King Friday and Queen Sara. Miss Elania lives in the Museum-Go-Round with her parents, Lady Elanie Fairchilde and Music Man Stan. More neighbors are on Main Street: Dr. Anna works in her doctor’s office and Baker Aker bakes in his bakery. Mr. Mcfeely delivers packages and mail to the neighborhood. Teacher Harriet helps Daniel Tiger and his friends learn about all kinds of things. This is a great book for kids about people in their neighborhood and surrounding areas, and what people do for a living in their neighborhood. The illustrations are good, with very vibrant colors. The writing is detailed about who’s who in the story. This good read is part of the “Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood” series. Reviewer: Paulette Bell; Ages 3 to 6.
