About the Author

Mike Curtis has been a professional musician since his first job as bassoonist in the Mexico State Symphony in 1976. He plays all the reeds in many styles: jazz, klezmer, and ethnic, and his well-known compositions in these styles are published in Germany, France, and the USA. He grew up in San Diego and now plays in Oregon's Eugene Symphony. He and his family travel to Mexico regularly and his next book will be about an old expat fisherman he encountered there.
