Memories of the Dead
Locarno, when he was a boy of sixteen, was envious of vampires: they were elusive, immortal, strong, and powerful. But that was when he was foolish and young; and now, knowing what he knows, he understands that they are nothing but a plague upon humanity—a disease that needs to be removed. He despises them because of the things they did, and continue to do, to the unknowing populace: treating humanity like nothing more than cattle. And for that, they must be destroyed. This, his private journal—his memories—left for those who may find and read it, is a living record of the time when his destiny was first intertwined with unspeakable evil.

About the Author

Phillip R. Hall was born in 1969, the last for four children in an otherwise normal, middleclass family. An early reader, he devoured books by the dozens, quickly learning what he did and did not like to read. Growing into an adult, he always wondered if he had what it took to become an accepted author; however, his profession (network administration & systems administration) left precious few moments of free time to make this longtime dream come to fruition. Over the course of a year (more or less) he worked on Memories of the Dead, his first novel, eventually bringing it to attention of several friends, who read the book and encouraged him to attempt publication. With his wife, Tammy, as supreme cheerleader of this effort, he submitted the work that you now hold in your hands. Phil resides in his home state of Iowa and surrounds himself with inspiration in form of family and friends. This novel is dedicated to my late mother, who did not live to see it in any form at all, "I hope she would have liked it."
