Overview

Ally wakes in hospital with her body shattered, her memory missing, and to find out that the love of her life, Riley, has dumped her and for the last twelve months they've been living as best friends. All the while she's been crying herself to sleep every night in her little beach house away from the city and slowly drowning in the toxicity of their friendship.

Despite her family's pleas, Ally realizes the city is no place for someone with so many broken bones and missing years of memories, and returns to the beach house to hide away from the world and try to make sense of the mess that is her relationship with Riley. As she slowly starts to reintegrate with the world outside, chasing her missing memories all over the town, Ally quickly realizes that scars and bruises are the least of her worries.

As Ally tries to rebuild her life minus the ten years of memories she no longer possesses, she must choose between reliving the pain of her past, or letting go and creating a new future for herself without Riley. But how to walk away from the only person her heart holds a memory of?

Meet the Author

Graduating with a Master of Letters (Creative Writing) from Central Queensland University, Stephanie went the way of all arts students by becoming a public servant and living a largely unfulfilled working life. To lessen the pain she eats a lot of chocolate and redirects all her calls to her administrative team.

To add insult to injury she went and got a Masters of Strength and Conditioning which she only uses when writing exercise programs for her friends, and which she will probably still be paying off in ten years time.

She currently resides much further from the beach than she'd like, and her second book (her first in the Creative Non-Fiction genre), I'm Not Shaving My Legs For This (a collection of personal essays), is due out in December 2012. Just as long as her friends and ex-boyfriends continue to let her use them as inspiration that is...

Her friends have recently stopped referring to her as 'Bridget' and now instead refer to her as 'Penny Hartz'. If you have no idea what that is, Happy Endings. Download it now.

Her father once wisely said to her, "If a man sticks around for 6 months, you just marry him, Stephie." Years of therapy seem to have helped her through this.

A writer, strength & conditioning coach, runner, girly girl, and crossfit gumby; at least nothing in her world is ever boring...
