The second book in Nordhoff and Hall's 'Bounty' trilogy does not disappoint. 20 men in an open boat in the middle of the ocean for weeks on end with nothing to do but not die shouldn't be a compelling read, yet it is. The fact that it's based on a true story, drawn from reports written by those who lived through it, absolutely floors me. The events of this book really happened, and I am awed that real people once survived the voyage described in this novel.
