Overview

In Men Are Like Fish: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Catching a Man, author Steve Nakamoto helps women gain fresh insight into how to capture the love of their life while putting the playfulness and passion back into the relationship-building process.

Men Are Like Fish developed out of Nakamoto's quest to understand how and why certain women are successful at romantic relationships while others are not. Equipped with astute observational skills honed during his years as a trainer for motivational guru Tony Robbins, Nakamoto noted that it was not necessarily the most beautiful, intelligent or otherwise ideally endowed women who possessed the ability to attract and capture a man's heart.

Ideal for women, Men Are Like Fish is for those who want to recapture the innocence and sport of life and the joy of a loving, committed relationship. Imaginative readers seeking a departure from run-of-the-mill self-help books will be delighted by this book's clever collection of pithy quotes, sage advice and humorous cartoons. Filled with the timeless ring of truth, readers will refer to Men Are Like Fish time and time again.

Editorial Reviews

Alissa Hiraga
Steve Nakamoto, a former communications instructor for Dale Carnegie & Associates and a personal development trainer for motivational expert Anthony Robbins, tells us how to get in the path of Cupid's arrow in his new book Men Are Like Fish. Written especially for women, the 192 page book includes anecdotes, illustrations, quotes and a slew of clever, helpful metaphors on reeling in true love. It also offers insight on maintaining a healthy attitude during your quest.

Men Are Like Fish is a charming, easy-to-read guide book for navigating the waters to true love. If you've found yourself clueless as how to bait and hook a man, Steve Nakamoto has some advice for you..."I tell women to master the basics, have fun, give it your own twist, and remember that you only have to catch one good one."

Steve Nakamoto has infused Men Are Like Fish with witty cartoons, proverbs and advice from more than 150 authors, philosophers and relationship experts. This clever combination provides women with exactly the right tools and information to find out the type of "big fish" they want and how to catch him, for good.

Midwest Book Review
There's a great deal more to the mating dance than sex, and a great deal more to developing a romantic life-time relationship than being good in bed. One of the best ways for a woman to begin is with a careful reading of Men Are Like Fish.
Playgirl Magazine
While we're not surprised that a man can only pull off this The Rules-ish book if he piles on fishing metaphors, comic strips and inspirational quotes, the advice in Steve Nakamoto's Men Are Like Fish: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Catching a Man goes far beyond "there are more fish in the sea." Unlike the Rules authors, Nakamoto encourages women to "decide exactly what they want to catch" before they go "fishing," and to trust their intuitions before deciding to land him or leave him. From bait to catch & release, this quick read is the "reel" guide to hooking the red snapper of your dreams.
Robin Deemer
There are a lot of fish in the sea, or so the old saying goes. But how can single women make a good catch? Orange County author Steve Nakamoto, a professional tour director and former personal development trainer, uses fishing metaphors to offer entertaining and useful advice. Chapter titles, for example, include "The Bait," "The Hook," "The Nibbles" and "Catch & Release." Interspersed with his observations are relevant cartoons and quotes about life and love from various sources.
Long Beach Press-Telegram
Tamara Fairchild
Men Are Like Fish is metaphorically written comparing men to fish. The author has cleverly hooked each aspect of dating into a form that even the novice fisherwoman can understand. It is chocked full of funny anecdotes, cartoons, and famous quotes from people throughout the ages that makes this a fun and informative book to read. Men Are Like Fish is a book everyone can learn from.

Catch this new book that shows women how to reel in the men: Men Are Like Fish: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Catching a Man. The book is an easy, fun read and includes a bounty of pithy quotes, sage advice and humorous cartoons.

Nakamoto says the five key elements that a woman needs to understand, study and master on her "fishing" expedition are: 1) The Big Fish: Know what your want and be able to size them up, 2) The Bait: Become irresistibly attractive and powerful, 3) The Cast: Get in the best position for meeting your top love prospects, 4) The Strike: Maintain unyielding patience in order to gain the secure emotional attachment, and 5) The Net: Play him into emotional commitment by handling his natural resistance.

Above all, says Nakamoto, remember that "Love is the keeper." The moments of love you experience will be memories to treasure the rest of your life.

    Interesting

It took me a moment to get past the fishing examples but over all it was a good book with interesting examples of why men are like fish. I love the fact that he tells women to stay true to your self and remain above all a lady. Some points I will take in to account. I would recommend this book to a friend for pointers on seeing Men & dating with new eyes.

Great advice for women--from a great guy

Steve's book would have shocked me if I hadn't read 'The Rules' a few years back. All of my relationship mistakes were finally clearly explained. Steve's book adds tremendous credibility--the man's perspective. His book is fun and easy to read and contains many practical ideas to help a woman find true love.

Men Are Like Fish Is A Refreshing Look At Relationships From A Man's Perspective

I found Men Are Like Fish to be an extremely readable, insighful and refreshing take about the oftentimes bewildering relationships between men and women. The author's use of the fishing metaphor was not only clever but makes perfect sense when you truly stop to think about it. Additionally, the advice in this book applies not only to singles, but to married couples as well. You should read the book, you won't regret it!
