Overview

Jase Steel is a twenty two year old hot tattooed and pierced bad boy who works at his family’s tattoo shop FOREVER STEEL with his three brothers, Cyrus, Zandor, Xavier and their Italian Momma Joe Steel. A first look at Jase and you would see a young man who was hot as hell and would quench one’s desire to take a walk on the wild side.
Jase’s interest is immediately peeked by Carly, but knows his best friend wouldn’t approve. He can’t help himself. He is who he is. He switches their phones, making it so she would have to see him again…alone.
After several attempts to not fall for the bad boy just like she has read about in books, Carly can’t fight her attraction to him any longer. After learning of her innocence and weighing in the Abe factor fact he can’t stay away. Jase gets Carly to agree “fake date” him.
The situations that surround Carly at all times are hysterical, yet heart warming and Jase falls hard and fast for her. She meets his brothers and mother further embarrassing herself which makes him feel protective and admit that she is making his walls to start crumbling down.
Knowing that she is leaving in the matter of days he does his best to show her how she deserves to be treated and admits to her that he is falling for her. Carly forces Jase to agree to keep their ‘fake relationship’ between the two of them.
Carly returns to California still innocent, but with her heart and desire completely consumed by Jase Steel, who will be coming to visit her in a month’s time.
Jase was not always a player, but because of certain circumstances in his life he has given up hope of ever loving again. His secrets are deep. He knows that he needs to come clean and decides to do so when he visits Carly.

Jase and Carly meet while Carly is visiting her dad and brother

Jase and Carly meet while Carly is visiting her dad and brother in Jersey. Her cousin Abe takes her to a party, where she quickly finds herself in the path of one Jase Steel. Jase likes to have fun, casual, no attachments, but he knows there is something different about Carly from the start. They begin to spend time together and their connection sparked right off the page, threatening to ignite everything around them.
Probably my favorite thing about this book is the humor. This book is just so damn funny. The sarcasm, wit and outright awkward situations are so seamlessly woven into the characters that you can’t help but feel like you just spent the day laughing with a best friend. They find themselves in some absolutely ridiculous situations and a couple of times I found myself shaking my head and thinking, yep, that would totally happen to me. Things aren’t always all laughs and sunshine for Carly and Jase. They deal with a lot and man, could I feel my heart aching for them. Some unexpected news arrives forcing them to find out who they truly are and exactly what they are capable of handling.
I love a book that can make me feel a multitude of emotions over the course of the story. Jase had me laughing one minute and heartbroken the next. I became a part of Jase and Carly’s emotional journey and I fell in love with their story. This was one of those books that had me staying up to finish the whole thing in one sitting, because I simply couldn’t let go of their story until I knew how it played out. I can’t wait to read more about the ridiculous (in all the best ways) Steel brothers!

    3 out of 5 Licks

I was confused when I first started this one. I felt like I missed the first part of the book or something. It starts off with Carly and Jase having already had some kind of summer fling and now he's coming to visit her for a few days. I did see after the fact that there was a prequel so I will have to read that and see if it helps. You can read this one without it but I wouldn't recommend it. There were moments where things were mentioned or inside jokes that I didn't understand. I could get the general idea but it was stuff that I never read about.

The chemistry between the two was super hot! I loved their conversations. All the innuendo. They are just very fun people. Jase comes off as very cocky and dominating but in a sexy way. Carly is just very sweet and funny. She made me laugh out loud with some of her inner conversations with herself.

Overall I liked the story but there was a lot of back and forth with the relationship. Everything is going great and they both are falling in love with each other, then all of a sudden Jase has to leave and Carly is just a summer fling to him. Then he wants her back then he doesn't think it working. It was very confusing. A lot of time would have been saved if they would just talk to each other. There were a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication between them. Also there was some problems with the plot. Certain parts were very confusing were I felt like I was missing part of the story. It was still a fun fast read. I liked all the characters so I'm interested in reading the other brothers stories.

4.8 Star Review ¿ Jase (Men Of Steel #1) I recommend this book.

4.8 Star Review – Jase (Men Of Steel #1)

    I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by M.J. Fields. This book includes passion, laughs, and heartache.

Jace meets Carly when he already had a girlfriend. Carly was only in town for a few weeks as she was going back home and going to school. Should Jase let her go and just move on or is he already in to deep with her to back away? If he lets her go and she moves on will he be okay with that?

Love the players in the story. Jase and the other Steel brothers (Zandor, Cyrus, Xavier), Abe (Carly’s Cousin), and Carly’s family. Throughout the story you can feel the chemistry from Jase and Carly. I found them both to be funny. At certain times in the story you will want to smack Jase and all of his brothers. They are all Alpha males who are very protective and very verbal in what they want.

Love this story and the way Jase really comes through in the end for Carly.

MJ adds elements in the story that at times tear into your emotions. The book has very realistic elements. If you enjoy the story you will laugh, you will cry, and you might even growl a little at your ereader (At least I did). But in the end you will love her for the laughs and for introducing you to the steel brothers.

I loved Jase! His tongue ring and other piercings were yummy to hear about! The scenes were done so tastefully and you could picture it all! I feel the author wrote the story line with thoughts of a everyday life. Jase and Carly had a great start to a wonderful relationship. The struggles they start to go through is what could happen to anyone and that is why you can relate to it so easily! I am looking forward to more from this author! Great Job!

A game of cat and mouse rather cute that continues between Jase

A game of cat and mouse rather cute that continues between Jase and Carly.

I enjoyed my reading for the biggest part of the novel as we follow Carly at her university and the troubles that come with having given her heart and trust to Jase.
A schema of love, sorrow and disappointment that reproduces itself as Jase refuses to share his dark past. But when it does, it is always in fanfare.

I admit that I less enjoyed the magic wand that makes the Steel brothers business men in a few months.
So this modern fairytale did not thrill me, but the story remains cute and sweet.

I look forward to reading "Jase and Carly: Summer Lovin '" to see how the story will evolve ...

    It was ok

I've read a lot more YA novels that were better written. This book was a little confusing to read because of the POV changes. The male dialogue during the intimate scenes was that of a male porn star, though during his most heart to heart dialogue it was easy to fall in love with him from the things he said. And the love he has for his daughter. I got the impression that the female was in love with this guy solely because he's gorgeous and is well endowed-purely physical. Though it was a little rushed being 150 pages, it was a good story of an underdog that eventually succeeded in life as a smart businessman and got the girl.

This book was hot, sassy and amazingly well written. MJ is truly a shining star in her own right, and has come a very long way to becoming an author to watch.
The story of Jase and Carly picks up after Carly is attending Stanford U, and Jase cannot get her out of his head. What ensues is a beautiful love story...full of insane ups and downs, and a ton of fantastically steamy scenes.
It was an absolutely fantastical read!

Great summer read. I couldn't put Carly and Jase's story down. MJ Fields reeled me in with the novella "Men of Steel" and kept me caught with Jase. Jase is a tattooed bad boy with heart and patients of steel. His love for
Carly never wavers even with Carly's indecisive back and forth insecurities. The saying "To hell with Prince Charming, give me a Tattooed Bad Boy" defiantly describes Jase. He as become one of my favorite Book Boyfriends. The sex scenes is OMG hot and intense. Jase's brothers are scene stealers. Can't wait to see which of the brothers MJ will write about next.
