Consider the following: Nishizaka plays the first movement of the Tchaikovsky about 4 minutes slower than the Heifetz recording, which clocks in at 15:45. I'm not saying that everyone should imitate Heifetz, but honestly, it is irritatingly slow. This is a moderately clean and safe performance, but uninspired. Was this review helpful?
