Overview

Kane’s a country singer who’s tangled with too many deceitful women. He’s learned his lesson: girls are for flirting and fun; emotions are for his music. But after spending a night with an earnest woman unlike any he’s known, he can’t force her out of his mind. So he goes in search of the woman he knows only as “Elle.”

On her last night in Nashville, the staunchly pragmatic Sabella found herself in a situation more suited to a romance novel than reality. Swept away, she ignored her rigidly self-imposed rules, succumbing to the fantasy just this once. But she knows real-world relationships have nothing in common with their fictionalized portrayals. When Kane unexpectedly shows up at her Portland apartment, she must choose between the practical truths she has learned and the desire for a passionate love she has struggled to suppress.

Despite the distance, Kane’s tour schedule, and their meddling friends, both are drawn to the chance for a romance neither quite believes is possible.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"This book was exactly what I needed. A heartfelt love story about learning to overcome being hurt in love before, taking a leap on something that is outside of your norm, and taking a leap of faith on love again." - Short and Sassy Book Blurbs

"A great story of finding someone when you least expect it and not letting misunderstandings stop you from being together. A fun sweet romance to curl in a chair with and get lost in." - Books Are Love

"Mending Heartstrings is a splendid romance read. It's a great choice for someone that wants more character-driven plot as opposed to hot and steamy. With fun characters, a few twists in the plot, and plenty of emotion, I recommend checking it out." - Jennifer Streck, Psychocat Reads

I was given an Advanced Review Copy in return for a honest review. Nicely written contemporary romance. I was hooked from the first page. The story was descriptive and had a relatable plot. Really liked the couple and the sweet ending. My first book by this author, and will definitely read more. Really enjoyable read! - Sarah

Mending Heartstrings By Aria Glazki Kane is in Nashville and plays guitar. His show was off that night as he noticed jsut one woman watching him, others were all about their own conversations. He hopes the flirting helps him get back on track. Elle was there to find out why the locals liked this place so much. It's karaoke night and he calls her onto the stage to sing while he strums. Sabella was up to it, she'd never see the people again in her life as she was heading home tomorrow afternoon. Weeks later she recalls the night he kissed her...he tracks her down and he just shows up one day... Found Powell's bookstore city of books fascinating and have never been there. Also fascinated with the band he wears from his ancestor Indian grandfather. Like the idea of their outings. Conversations get heated and he thinks she's using him for a story she's writing. They don't talk to one another after that til he leaves. She confides in her friend Gina and she commiserates with her and getting a new hairdo. She focuses on work things and tries to forget about him....she figures out what happened with the things he sends her. She wonders if things are just temporary and if he or she will move on as they are not together much, as he travels for work. Things get a bit scary as they discuss how to get rid of the man who's beating her up and ruling what she does and think, etc. You wonder how the long distance relationship will work and if it will last. Love the travel and new places to explore. Received an advanced reader copy via the author in exchange for my honest review.

Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki is a cute little love story about overcoming trust issues. Oh my goodness is it ever about trust issues! Kane almost drove me bonkers with them! Sabella wasn't innocent either. They both have baggage to work through, and that made for a believable story. There was insta-attraction, but no mushy, gushy insta-love. For the most part, Saballa seems like she has a pretty good head on her shoulders, and she's certainly a great friend. I enjoyed their story. I loved that it starts off in Nashville, and brings us on a little journey as Saballa and Kane come to terms with themselves. The ARC of Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Aria Glazki really shows her versatility and range as a writer with "Mending Heartstrings. This novel is a grounded and realistic romance novel. This is a complete turn around from her very whimsical and fanciful - but equally enjoyable romance, "Mortal Musings". Both novels take their time in allowing the hero and heroine to slowly get to know one another before taking the step into intimacy. This technique that Ms. Glazki uses makes the couple's emotional bond greater than their physical connection. In "Mending Heartstrings" we get the preamble to the hero and heroine's sexual activity but the actual descriptive sex is left to the readers' imaginations. The main characters are deep, contemplative and richly drawn. The other cast of characters range from smarmy, charming, caring to colorful. In addition to the main story line there are also two subplots running below the surface: one is shallow and the other is much deeper and insidious. The main characters, especially the hero, have trust issues that they do grow out of due in large part to their emotional commitment. "Mending Heartstrings" is incredibly lush, not only in it's large main story line, but in it's equally impactful smaller one as well. The time Aria Glazki spends on developing the heartfelt relationship between the hero and the heroine you know they are more than ready for that physical step. The lack of sex scenes is not a really detriment because it emphasizes the emotional focus that is the spotlight of this book. But the angst and see-sawing about whether Bella should or should not becomes a bit tiresome. The friendship between Bella and Gina is portrayed genuinely, full of fun and strong in a firm and mutual trust. Kane's band-mates each have a distinct and individual voices and personalities that are amusing and add to their cohesive and protective nature. This novel uses each element of characters, emotion, relationship, and love to create chords that grow, change, and develop into a heartwarming romance novel. Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki is a sweet romance novel that exceeded my expectations. Romance is not one of my favorite genres, no murder or blood and guts massacres, but some of the ugly things in life does make this read as if it could be happening to a friend of mine…or yours. Ordinary girl meets country singer. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to take a road trip with your very own hottie? She’ll be traveling with Kane, Bobby, Steve…and Mitch. Well, Sabella does. She is not your drop dead gorgeous with a figure to die for kind of gal. She is more like the girl next door and I want so much for her not to get in over her head and have her heart broken. I love her friend, Gina. Feeling down, Gina will raise you up. I used to have a friend that reminds me so much of Gina and without her in the world the sun seems to have dimmed a little. Gina is a vibrant and colorful character, full of love and life. She only sees the upside of life, until… I kept thinking, how can I fall in love with a novel that is all about romance, no murder, no horror, you know, those ugly things in “life”. Well the ugly does rear its head and it comes in human form. I am surprised and delighted by how much I enjoyed Mending Heartstrings. The romance was real, with all the ups and downs that make us know we are alive and in love. I received a copy of Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki in return for an honest review.
