    I Also Recommend:

    An old favorite, still valuable

This book is a true classic. It is essentially unchanged since its first publication in 1950. At that time, it represented an effort to compile recipes that were old even then, traditional dishes from Mennonite homes of various national backgrounds (German, Dutch, Russian, etc.). Mary Emma Showalter modernized and standardized the old-time measurements and directions to make for ease of use. Since then, this cookbook has come to have a place in many, many Mennonite kitchens, and in other homes where old-fashioned and time-tested recipes are valued.

    Perfect Wedding Gift!

I can always count on this book to have the old-fashioned recipes my grandmothers used to make. It's one of the best wedding gifts I received, and now it's the gift of choice for me to give!
