No one on the planet can deny the Physical Signs of the Era in which we live. We see them every day on television, the internet or in newspapers. But, the Real Signs are "unseen" and are Spiritual in nature. In the King James Bible, Deception is not only mentioned four times in Matthew chapter twenty-four, but Jesus mentions it first among the signs of the end. Certainly it must be among the most significant and perhaps the most powerful sign before His return. We will discover this is great detail as we study the Bible together.
Satan, the enemy of all mankind tried to pollute the blood line of Messiah in order to stop any hope for redemption for mankind in Genesis Chapter 6, however, when that failed he tried to murder the descendants of the Messiah and eventually baby Jesus through King Herod. He failed yet again! Now the Dragon has his sights on the Gospel message itself. The Devil knows that the Gospel is power and brings humanity out of the Darkness of this fallen world and into the Light of Jesus Christ. Knowing his time is limited, Satan has started the final campaign to pervert and change the true Gospel into a false gospel called "Mental Jesus!"
By the Grace of God, we will examine his methods, weapons and strategies using the Word of God to expose his plans. Mental Jesus is an eye-opening realistic book that exposes the darkest Deception the enemy has ever attempted... to destroy the Gospel and replace the "Good" seed with an "Evil" seed. This produces false coverts over and over again. But, "fear not" the Lord says because 1 John 4:4 says "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." Amen.

CHAPTER 1

Mental Jesus ... Say What?

The Bible, the Word of God states clearly that there will be a day ... where every person who said, "No thank you Jesus" will stand before Him, and be judged according to their words and actions. Most people I've talked to don't take into consideration our "thought life" as I call it. You see we serve a Holy God who is the only one able to "see" into our minds eye ... in other words there is nothing we can hide from almighty God, including our thoughts which lead us to act or not.

Revelation 20: [12] "I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done [*their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books. [13] And the sea delivered up the dead who were in it, death and Hades (the state of death or disembodied existence) surrendered the dead in them, and all were tried and their cases determined by what they had done [according to their motives, aims, and works]. [14] Then death and Hades (the state of death or disembodied existence) were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (1) (Emphasis mine)

Jesus warned us four times in Matthew chapter twenty-four that Deception would be among the signs right before His return. I find it very interesting that He took the time to mention deception more than any other "Signs of the End" in one chapter of scripture. Have I to wonder why? After more than 20 years of bible study and through the Grace of God. I believe I have uncovered answers concerning the signs of the End Times, within this most incredible book ever written ... the Word of God.

Deception is not only mentioned four times in Mathew chapter twenty-four, but Jesus mentions it first among the signs of the end. Certainly it must be among the most significant and perhaps the most powerful sign before His return. We will explore this is great detail!

As a student of bible prophecy or the subject of "End Times" (Eschatology) the Lord placed this particular topic on my heart with a sense of urgency that I have never sensed before. As I discern people and the world, they all have one common factor ... being enthralled in their own lives and the things of this world, yet the "signs" are clearly in plain sight, but yet unnoticeable if that makes sense? It seems as though the urgency and blindness sound like a blaring fire alarm ringing, yet no one is running for safety because "it's not real" because people just continue to go about their daily lives ... oblivious as though everything is just fine. I implore you if you don't know Jesus Christ to "wake up" and run to Jesus today! This reminds me of two other passages that Jesus mentions how the world would be like, just before He returned.

Jesus said, "it would be like the "Days of Noah" (Matthew 24:37) and Lott." (Luke 17:28) So what were the days of Noah and Lott like? Keep in mind these prophecies were written several millennia ago. It is nothing short of amazing to me how our world mirrors the world of Noah and Lott today. Within our world of technology and travel, you can literally receive information, news, weather and every kind of data you can imagine instantaneously. A click on your computer mouse or your television remote control gives you instant access to the world ... and this world is precisely as it was predicted it would be like by Jesus some two thousand years ago.

Jesus foretold our world today, as it relates to the world during the Genesis era. So what were the days of Noah and Lott like? Just ask yourself an honest question ... Our society is on the brink of total destruction whether it's moral depravity or life under the constant threat of nuclear, biological, computer or chemical terrorism. Any way you look at it ... the times are coming to a close as Jesus foretold. So let's look at the predictions made by Messiah.

The "Days of Noah and Lott" are predominately marked by the following characteristics; (The love of Money, Luxurious and Materialism were Priorities, Pride of life, Relativism (Everything was Relative to each person because "Absolute Truth" was absent), Faithlessness, Wickedness, Depravity, Unnatural Sexuality by both Men and Women in every evil way, Violence on a global scale, Worldliness, Great Evil Continually Everywhere, Men without Fear of God and Good would be considered Evil and vice versa, and the list goes on and on; I know, and I thank God I have "Eyes to See" and Ears to Hear!" What about you? Do you see and hear the Lord speaking to your heart? Do you share a sense of urgency within your soul in the same way as I do? I pray that you do and that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you will move quickly to take action within your life and share with those whom you love, in the Name of Jesus ... Amen. I must confess that along with this strong sense of urgency, I have also a firm conviction to examine how far and wide this deception has rooted itself within Christendom. But even more unprecedented is how deeply embedded this deception is within the Gospel. The mere idea that satanic deception has entered into the "true Christian Church" is disturbing enough by itself, but what's an even greater threat is to what level and extent deception has been infused with the Gospel of Christ. Jesus warns us about false prophets in wolves clothing, in Matthew Chapter 7.

After all, the Gospel is how we spread our faith in Christ, and every other believer then reproduces the same Gospel they received, and Christianity thus springs forth, just like it did when the church was established in Acts Chapter 2 ... (The "Good Seed" principle.)

But, knowing this "corrupted" Gospel is being polluted and then reproduced over and over again? What must we do? What can we do? The first item, I would like to bring to the forefront is the fact that the innocent people who've fallen prey to this deception for the most part are completely unaware. As I said in the beginning of the book, "If you're Deceived, you don't know it because you're Deceived!" You see the enemy of all mankind; Satan (the accuser) has been working behind the scenes for ages using people to distort the Gospel of Jesus Christ because he recognizes the Power of Salvation is within the true message from Christ. This is where I would like to start our discussion so that we may know who and how this deception is corrupting the Gospel. By recognizing the deceiver and his plans, we can together use the Word of God to expose his evil schemes and plans. But only by the power of the Holy Spirit we can "Break the Chains" of those who've been taken "spiritually hostage!" And by the Grace of God, bring them to Christ, who can set the captives free.

John 8:32 "And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free."

So ... the title of this book is "Mental Jesus!" ... "Say what?" This is the typical response I receive when I explain to people I'm writing a book called "Mental Jesus." Let me say from pure "AGAPE" (Greek; Pure love that comes from God) that the New Testament Christian Church has never seen such a colossal attack by Satan against the gospel in all of human history. With the technological breakthroughs in communications and computers, the entire world can view, listen or log on in an instant to massive amounts of information (or misinformation) no matter the language, time zone or education level. This brings both good and evil along with it!

In a sense, The Tower of Babel (Genesis 10:7-11) has been digitally restored! Unfortunately, the enemy is using this, to his benefit in order to propagate his "Liberal-Postmodern Agenda." Deceiving the people of the earth! My, love for Jesus Christ who is my Lord, God and Savior and the passion He has given me for passing out the "bread of life" to my fellow man is the primary motivation behind this book. I pray I will not fail him in this effort!

The blueprint placed on my heart is urgent, and I guess it's because on a Prophetic scale we are about to witness some amazing things in the near future. Israel and more specifically Jerusalem will be the "eye of the storm!"

Mark my words ... Israel will be the "Key" for all things Prophetic! Currently just about every Fanatical Islamic State is in full chaos ... the instability within the entire middle-east region is complicated further by the Russian and Chinese governments supporting mayhem which are all apart of bible prophecy, and they don't even realize it.

The current policies in the United States and its treatment of the State of Israel are nothing less than deplorable and we as a country should be on our knees in prayer for our nation, leaders and the American people who are blinded by the enemy. I know that I am praying!

By the Grace of God, My goals are threefold. First, to expose Satan (The father of lies) with God's Holy Word in order to open the eyes of those who are deceived. Secondly, validate the absolute truth, the plan of Salvation by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ and Finally, how to recognize demonic false gospels of deception and what we are to do.

This is a battle for the souls of men, and women everywhere based on the lies of "Relativism" versus the "Absolute Truth" (who is forever the Lord Jesus Christ). Let me be clear that Satan is no longer secretly attacking the gospel, but is purposefully involved in perverting the one true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is clear in both scripture and in observing our society at large. America is under siege, but not by people, rather, Satan is moving in the Spiritual Realm!

The apostle Paul warned us in Galatians chapter one that there would be an attack against the gospel, even from angelic beings which will preach "another gospel" in order to deceive mankind.

Now we see the Apostle Paul's prophetic warnings as a reality thanks to the perversion of the one true Gospel into such heretical doctrines such as "Easy Belivism", the "Seeker friendly and "Emerging Church" movements which I consider doctrines of demons. Clearly, it is not my intention to compare every other "religion", but rather expose those that have been masked under the title and guise of the word "Christianity." Even as I write this book, the prophecies of Jesus and the apostles are unfolding right before our eyes. We view it on our televisions, read in the papers, and log on to our computers to the Digital Tower of Babel to a wealth of information and disinformation. Deception is everywhere and "Mental Jesus" is the result of this "bad seed!" The enemy is both ruthless and cunning so we must face this threat with the Holy Spirit of power. By ourselves or through our own "Power" we can't do anything, but with Jesus Christ on our side "All things are possible!"

Although several TV evangelists are truly spreading the gospel, there are just as many who are preaching the "gospel of prosperity" or a "feel good gospel" which creates a "fleshly driven" motivation, to become a Christian based on material things such as wealth, power, feeling better about you or being a "confident person." What we should be doing is allowing the Holy Spirit that convicts the, whole world of their sinful nature to turn away from sin, repent and turn to the cross of salvation. As a result, we now have people sitting in pews in churches across the country which believe they are Christians based on a lie.... a false gospel. "Mental Jesus" which is another way of describing a false convert becomes rooted within churches all across the country and then reproduces itself over and over again. (The Bad Seed) Lord help us!

Early on in the development of mankind, the devil tried to pollute the bloodline that would bring forth the Messiah in Genesis chapter 6, but God Almighty destroyed all of humanity save eight people, therefore, destroying the enemies plan. I understand that the Deceivers next plan has been in place now for over a millennia is to poison the Christian church by replacing the true Gospel of Peace with "Mental Jesus" ... a church without Christ! A church void of the Holy Spirit is no "Church" at all according to Paul. I guess the best way to proceed at this point is to provide you with a real definition of "Mental Jesus." I coined the phrase "Mental Jesus" back in 2009 while teaching a course, on Bible Prophecy at Waco First Assembly of God (WFA) in Waco Texas. "Mental Jesus" is actually a spiritual disease rather than just a theological term, and it truly is a recipe that leads to a lifetime of deception, and if, it is not exposed and dealt with ... an eternity in hell. This should not be taken lightly considering the times in which we live! For simplicities sake, Mental Jesus describes people who misleadingly believe they are "Born-Again" believers in Jesus Christ, but in fact they are deceived and are living their lives as False Converts. The most prevalent and problematic problem when dealing with people who suffer with Mental Jesus is that, they are demonically deceived and therefore don't realize they are deceived which makes them the hardest to reach with the "gospel" or (Good News). In other words, "if you believe you're a Christian" why would you think otherwise? A person suffering from Mental Jesus may have an intellectual understanding about the "historical Jesus" or those that "believe in God or Jesus" or the "politically correct" term referred to as a "higher being." Some people are motivated by a false perception that ALL Christians are rich with material goods, wealth and power so they seek out the riches of this life believing they are Christians by being "good" or by attending a church, or by their status in society, etc ...

This is another deception the enemy has been utilizing throughout human history to convince people that through "deed or works", self-salvation can be attained, much like Islam teaches. Mental Jesus is everywhere, but can be recognized just as Jesus said in Matthew 7 ... "By their fruits they will be known." They may even attend your church, have been baptized, understand Christian Terminology and know "some bible", but are null and void of the most important part of a true born-again believer ... The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Ezekiel 36: [27] "And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them." (1) (Emphasis mine)

This kind of mindset was also experienced by the apostles in the book of Acts; A man named Simon was following the teachings of the apostles, but did not have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, but when he saw the power imparted through the hands of the apostles ... he revealed his true nature by his own admission as revealed in detail in the book of acts in Chapter Eight.

Acts 8: [18] "However, when Simon saw that the [Holy] Spirit was imparted through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he brought money and offered it to them, [19] Saying, Grant me also this power and authority, in order that anyone on whom I place my hands may receive the Holy Spirit. [20] But Peter said to him, Destruction overtake your money and you, because you imagined you could obtain the [free] gift of God with money! [21] You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is all wrong in God's sight [it is not straightforward or right or true before God]. [Ps 78:37.] [22] So repent of this depravity and wickedness of yours and pray to the Lord that, if possible, this contriving thought and purpose of your heart may be removed and disregarded and forgiven you. (1)(Emphasis mine)

If you are suffering from Mental Jesus like Simon you are deceived and your motives are roguishly displaced ... the heart is deceived, and there is no personal relationship with Jesus Christ because the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is missing. Scripture is clear regarding men void of the Holy Spirit and the false belief that salvation can be attained by human 'Works" ...

Titus 3:5-6 "[5] He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, [6] Which He poured out [so] richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. (1) (Emphasis mine)

Ephesians 2: [8] "For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (*delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;"

I would also like to point out a very powerful quote from a sermon by C. H. Spurgeon delivered on May 8th, 1859 concerning, the importance of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit:

"And hence from the text that is before us, may I draw, and I think very conclusively, the argument, that if God in his covenant made with his people has promised to put his Spirit within them, it must be absolutely necessary that this promise should have been made, and it must be absolutely necessary also to our salvation that every one of us should receive the Spirit of God."

If the Holy Spirit is NOT indwelling the "Professing Christian", then he or she is not "born-again" and they are deceived. There could be several reasons why a person is caught in the snare of the enemy.

Great book about being a Born Again versus thinking you are.
It asks to really search yourself, to see if you truly are Born Again or have you been deceived into believing you are.
It deals with the “Reality” of being a Christian versus the “Illusion” of being a Christian.
No matter where you are at regarding Jesus Christ, Just Inquiring, New Christian, Years as a Christian or a Preacher, you need to read this in-order know the difference between the reality of being a Christian versus being deceived into thinking you are.
