The dialogue partakes of an aggressively teen vernacular—"... major bummer that her aunt isn't just a lost soul, but a crazy-bitch lost soul"—but the narration seems to have a hard time finding its rhythm.
The back story may not sink in but the romantic tension captivates. (Paranormal romance. 14 & up)

Egmont USA has been extremely gracious to allow me to read a copy of this novel, via Netgalley, prior to its release on September 27th, and I must say this is an amazing book. I am thankful that I was able to read it early, and now I'm dying for the sequel, and the first book hasn't even technically released yet! Faegen is a very talented writer that pulled me into her novel through her superb prose and wonderful storyline.
To be honest, I was originally interested in this book because of the beautiful cover. The synopsis sounded okay, but it didn't really pull me in and I was a little afraid I wouldn't care for the book. In my personal opinion, the synopsis doesn't do this novel justice, by any means, and I was extremely pleased to find out that my original skepticism was unfounded. This is a beautiful novel. Faegen has created a truly riveting story that I personally found to be unique and refreshing, and I am absolutely, one hundred percent, in love with Jax. He is HOT! The characterization is amazing throughout the entire novel and I feel like I personally know Jax and Sasha. The suspense and anxiety within the novel was palpable, and I could literally feel my heart beating faster as the book unfolded, diving deeper into the scary realms of cultish activity. This is a great novel, all around, however, reader beware: there is an intense sex scene within the novel that I personally didn't think belonged. An allusion to it would have been fine, but this is quite graphic and I was disheartened that Faegen decided she needed to go there in her writing. I thought the book was perfect without it. Call me old school, but I can't knowingly give this to a young adult because this type of graphic sensuality isn't something I think they need to read about-they get enough of that on TV and in music as it is. That aside, though, this is a great novel! Four and a half stars.

It really seems to be a love it or hate it kind of a book and luckily for me I fell into the former category. For me, this felt like the great beginning to what has the potential to turn into a great series of books. There was sexy romance and action--and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I felt pulled into the pages and flew through the story. I also really enjoyed Ms. Faegan's unique spin on the heaven/hell angel/demon mythology that has been prevalent as of late. She definitely brought something new to the table!
The book starts off with a bang as Ms. Faegan takes us right into the action. We're instantly thrust into a dark world of deception, intrigue, and darkness. Sasha's deceased father was an international insurance agent--or so Sasha believed. She's desperate to find out who killed him and why, which brings her into the circle of The Ravens, an exclusive group of teenagers led by her mother's now ex-boyfriend. What Sasha learns as a result of her chance encounter with the group shocks her--and isn't as much of a "chance encounter" as she believed it to be. They were looking for her. As Sasha is thrust into the dark world of the Mephisto, she must learn to cope with many firsts--anger, darkness, and even, maybe, love.
I'm a sucker for a romance story so maybe that's what captured my attention with this one. I enjoyed reading about Jax and Sasha and watching each of them grow and change. I didn't connect with them as individuals on an overly deep level like I do with some characters, but I liked following their story and watching their relationship grow. There was a good amount of growth in each character as they learned to love and embrace the good and bad aspects of each other. Sasha, the paragon of beauty and goodness, must learn to cope with dark emotions and emerging strength. At the same time, Jax must learn what it really means to fall in love with someone--not just want to be with someone because that person is "meant for you."
There is definitely a lot going on in The Mephisto Covenant, so if you're going to dive in, be prepared to clear some time to take this story in. Ms. Faegan will keep you on your toes with ongoing action. There are definitely times when she is throwing a lot of information at you that's important for understanding the story, and I'll admit that it can seem a bit cumbersome. Also note--this is definitely a novel for older YA readers (16+) as it includes violence and detailed sexual encounters. Ms. Faegan is not a "fade to black" writer when it comes to these things.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I think that it marks the beginning to what has the potential become an engaging series.

I cried and laughed and LOVED iT !!
Ths sex scence was like two pages.
But i loved this book so much its hard for me ti spell right. The ending was amazing i cried ! But the ending wasnt a depressing romeo and juliet story it was PERFECT ! nothing sad and depressing . :DD READ IT ! 3 hours for me to finish it..well... cus its THAT GOOD.

The Mephisto Covenant is God's promise at redemption for Jax and after spending a thousand years of bringing people to Hell On Earth and trying to find another Anabo, he's finally found that redemption in Sasha, but it's more to him than just that. He wants her to love him, it means something to him. Of course, she isn't safe anywhere as long as she keeps holding out on joining the Ravens and if Eryx finds out that she's Anabo, he'll kill her. The question quickly becomes, can Jax keep her safe and can she love him despite the fact that he's a son of hell? Will she give up her mortality to become Mephisto, so that he can gain the peace and redemption through her love, which is pure, strong, and true?
What can I say about this novel that I haven't said already? It was a beautiful, compelling, and a very well developed story of love and sacrifice and redemption. I could not have asked for more and yet, I do want more. As soon as I turned the last page and closed the book, I found myself yearning for the next novel in the series, and realizing the first one isn't even out on the shelves yet. How very lucky was I, to receive an ARC of a book that was one of my top three most anticipated reads, this year.
Trinity Faegen did a marvelous job at marrying religious theology and romance with a mortal, in such a brilliant way that possessed a hint of underlying realism. The character's were engaging, the plot was well developed, the pacing never stagnated, and the imagery blended effortlessly into a seemingly fascinating story that involved Russian spies, religous theology, normal teenagers, cult-like behavior, and romance that will definitely keep the reader captivated throughout the entire read.
There was no mistaking who was good, bad, right, or wrong with this novel. You knew who all the players were and what their game was, their reason for being there. It was nice to see them play to their strengths or fall to their weaknesses, but still do it all with such realistic attributes accompanying them. It was easy to sympathize with the main protagonist of The Mephisto Covenant, Sasha, whose life seemed to be turned upside down the minute she found out her mother had lost her job at the State Department and was being deported back to Russia, then realizing she was going to be moving in with her Uncle Tim and a woman who hated her father as much as she hated her mother, if not more so.
The love story was probably one of my favorite things about The Mephisto Covenant, because it wasn't an instant relationship from the beginning. Sasha, knowing that she wanted to be with Jax, also struggled with that because of who she was and what he was. She was good and pure and he was a son of Hell, so the question became "how could she be with someone like him?" The irony is, that while being a son of hell, Jax was probably the most truthful and honest character that you could trust in the novel. He meant well and tried to respect Sasha's wishes as much as he could, even if it hurt him to do so.
I usually shy away from books with overly religious tones or theology, but with The Mephisto Covenant it was a bit different. It didn't feel all that preachy. It was more your basic good vs evil epic battle and not just another "fallen angel" fell in love with a mortal and

I have heard a lot of negativity about this book but I for one loved it. Sasha's father was killed and she can't get over the fact that his killer has not been found. She is willing to do anything to find his killer even go to a meeting with a secret group at school. The group simply wants her to pledge her soul to someone named Eryx who gives his followers anything they want. In reality Eryx steals people's souls when they pledge and is trying to take over hell. I was a little lost in the beginning because you are thrown right into a scene and you are wondering "who is that?" and "what did he call her?" but as the story progresses it's all explained.
When Sasha goes to the group they turn on her and try and kill her but she's saved by Jax (insert swoon). Jax is part demon and hopes to find an Anabo. Anabos are the only girls capable of loving a demon but finding one is completely rare. Sasha happens to be an Anabo but doesn't want any part of demons, secret groups or Eryx. Trinity really pushes the envelope by including religion in The Mephisto Covenant which at first I was skeptical about, but the book is fiction and it unfolded nicely.
The connection between Sasha and Jax is unbelievably hot! I will say I wasn't crazy about Jax's duster but something that could accidently get lost. Being that Jax is part demon he doesn't have experience with dating so he has no idea what to do to get Sasha to fall in love with him. The twist is that as a demon he isn't capable of love and she finds herself wondering if he really cares about her or if it's just the fact that he wants her to love him. If I were Sasha, I would have had my way with him now and asked questions later..Kidding-sort of!
There is a very detailed sex scene but it wasn't vulgar. Again it's something new that I have not seen in YA but let's face it teens have sex. Teens see sex on TV and you don't watch 16 and Pregnant by not knowing about sex. I have seen people categorize this as instant love which I don't think is accurate but I will say that part of being a teen is thinking you are in love with crushes, boyfriends, and Robert Pattinson until you learn what love really means. I also want to say that I love how Egmont USA puts out a great variety of stories. For me The Mephisto Covenant was great and I look forward to reading more books from Trinity Faegan!

This book kept u guessing and had just the right amount of romance and action. Though the ending was somewhat sad, it was also happy. I love this book and i give it 5 stars!!!!

I think this is not a young adult book--17 years old and below. The romance part is more of 18 years old and above. Maybe because the protagonist male has lived for 1,000 years or more.
Anyway, I really have enjoyed reading this book. It is like watching a chick flick that you get hooked as deeper you get into the story. They are some repetitive statements, but a minor flaw that does not ruin the story. You will love the romance of Jax (a Mephisto and warrior-kind-a guy) and Shasha (an Anabo who will redeem Jax).
This is a good read, and I recommend it to people who enjoy reading stories based on biblical myth.

When i started reading this book i was curious to know what it is about.I liked the description,and i was really happy when i received the book.Thank you so much,Trinity!
I really liked the story.It was something unique and i never thought that i will fiind a story like this.
The Mephisto Covenant:The Redemption of Ajax,from no on is my new favorite book.The characters,the scenes,were well described and everything was incredible.
This is the first time when i read about Anabo,and it was a nice surprise.I can't imagine something much better then.When i read about something new i don't really know how to start writing about it,so i apologize if i'm writing a lot things that have no sense.
The story was amazing.Despite the fact that at the beginning of the book i was expecting that i won't find something interesting,i was really glad when Trinity started writing about Ajax and his brothers.
All the stories about God and Lucifer,angels and demons were different or they had something in common,i know that,but this one was unique.All the things about the Sons of Hell and Anabo are now stuck in my head,and i don't know when i will forget about them.I enjoyed reading this book.
The main character,Sasha,was sweet,but too naive.She thought she can find who killed her father,but the truth was that she couldn't.I was glad that that night she went at that meeting for the Ravens,because that's how Jax found her.For a Son of Hell,Jax,is not a bad guy.Yes,he did a lot of bad things,but he can't stop it.That's what he is supposed to do.But that doesn't mean he wants to.Like his brothers,Ajax wants to find his Anabo.The girl who is supposed to be his.
I won't lie,i didn't like the fact that he tried to erase Sasha's memoriest,but i understand why.But in the end that doesn't matter.All that matters is that Jax,despite the fact that he knows that Sasha could be his redemption,he is willing to let her go.
This was a very good story,and i don't regret that i read it.I laughted,and sometimes i wanted to yell,because i didn't like the way Sasha acted.Of course,i didn't like Eryx and i hated him for what he did to Jane.That was not fair.Sons of Hell or not,the six brothers were the only ones who tried to do something to stop Eryx from taking over Hell and destroy everything.Well,maybe that doesn't sound so bad,but the truth is that Eryx is worse than Lucifer.After i read the book and saw what Trinity wrote about the next one,i can't stop wondering about which brothers will be.I loved this book.Sasha and Jax are a good couple,and i'm glad nothing bad happened to them.This time Eryx's plan failed.Sasha didn't die ,and Jax got his redemption and the girl he loved.
There were a few characters that i didn't like the way they ended.Chris,for exemple,i never thought that he will pledge his soul to Eryx.I understand that he thought he could save his father,but he knew better.And Tim,he was such a nice guy.He was good to Sasha,and i liked him.But in the end he ended up doing what he hated the most.Too bad,but that's how it is.Sometimes we gotta accept that not all the good characters survive until the end.When i received the book i tried so hard to wait and read it after i finish the books i started,and now i regreti it.I can't believe i wait until now!Maybe i didn't write much about the story ,but all i can say is that i love it and that it is unique.Ravens.Sons of Hell.The Mephisto Covenant.Anabo.I never thought i will find this termin in one book and i would really like them so much.And it was worth it.I can't wait to read the next book and to find out who is the next brother who will receive his redemption.

This book was exceptional. i hate nto say it though in the beginin it had one boring part but after that it was one of the best books ive ever read. totaly reccommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cover is gorgeous right? That was what attracted me to The Mephisto Covenant along with the idea of sons of hell it sounded like it would be a hot and fast paced read but it fell short. Everything was there for it to be great but it just wasn’t. Honestly I’m disappointed, I had high hopes for this book.
One thing that bugged me was the amount of information dumping this book had. And some info was repetitive in other words we the reader already learned about it but then a scene would come where Jax would explain the same thing again to Sasha. I personally would have liked to be left in the dark and learn about all the secrets along with Sasha instead. In moments like those I just got bored and skimmed the paragraph. The info dumping made it really hard to enjoy the book.
Also my goodness...Sasha was put through so much hell, I felt so bad for her character she was molested, almost raped, physically assaulted and verbally abused. I was just shocked and it’s not until later that she started standing up for herself when her powers came to be and she got stronger but even then there were times someone else had to come and save her. Also I’m not sure if this should have been categorized as a YA there was a sex scene that was written out detail for detail.
Jax one of the sons of hell was HOT, but that was it I couldn’t connect with him on any other level and learning his past it should have made me feel something for his character but I just couldn’t connect.
What I did like was the uniqueness of the Mephisto Covenant, the Anabos and how the author added that to the story, the Ravens, Skias, and even the spin she did about purgatory which is why I am giving it two stars.
This book seemed much too intense to be YA. I generally enjoy dark books if they are well done...but this one just wasn't for me. There seemed to be a huge and somehwta confusing infux of information all at the very beginning of the book, but this I could have gotten past. It was the "adult themes" and issue that I really had lopts of trouble reconciling with a YA book and an innocent character like Sasha and all that happens to her (I don't want to spoil anything) This is definitely for the older YA audience if even YA at all.

This is one of my favorite books. It has a great story line that keeps you reading on and on. This is one of those books that make you think about it for days.I fell in love with Jax immediately. I recommend.

Best book took me about 2 days to finish it. The fist chapter with the romance between Jax & Sasha was amazing. Finding someone you love after saving her life i knew that Jax wuld never leave her at all. The family her mom made her stay with how she had to put up with them while her mom was half way across the country was horible but Jax still was there for her. Amanda poor girl what Brett did to her even Sasha was something you never expect a cousin would do. Jax family was so nice to Sasha what i liked the most was how she thought what it would be like if she became one of them. She took her time by listing to stories before her dession. It was very strange what the homless man did and he knew that something bad would happen and Jax listen to him because Sasha safty was his #1 pryority. Ive never written such a long review i have a feeling who will be the next Ando whatever they call them.

This a great book! The way the author develops each character is phenominal. The plot is well written. I wish this wasn't the only book in Sasha and Jax's world. I think haveing each book for a different brother is a great idea. I'm curious how it's going to be written.
Except for a few words, it's an easy read and one that will keep yoou turning pages. Definitly a book that can be read in 1 day
