Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sandra Kitain M.L.S.
King Neptune rules fairly over his kingdom. He and Princess Rowena have a collection of singing shells whose songs have many powers. They can change the seasons, put a shark into a trance, and even help mermaids swim as fast as dolphins. Princess Sula, a mermaid who lives in Mermaid Bay, finds a singing shell and by dropping it, causes an undersea storm. Sula struggles to confront the stormy waves and rescue her fellow mermaid friends. A fanciful look at a pretend world. The entire mermaid land is evoked by a map at the front of the book. This chapter book is part of the "Mermaid Mysteries" series. In every book there is a mystery to be solved by the mermaid detectives. Reviewer: Sandra Kitain, M.L.S.

Meet the Author

Katy Kit studied English at the University of London and went on to become a children's book editor. She moved to Bath, England, in 1996, where she now lives with her husband, David, and their two young children.

After a degree and 10 years working in Graphic Design, Tom Knight eventually realised that true happiness lies in drawing pictures in a shed at the bottom of the garden for a living. Brought up on a healthy diet of Tintin, The Beano and good country air, Tom finds his inspiration all over the place, constantly getting under his feet and making a mess. Tom lives on Mersea island with his splendid wife Tabby and their 2 boys, Archie and Seth.
