    Must read!

    This series was freckin great! The story lines and plots moved every well. To want, need and command love aganist all odds....oh man only in a fairy tale. Loved loved loveddddd these books. Truly hope the series continues.

    Sexy Dante!

    I really didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. The reviews concerning the darkness of the character Dante is what got me to buy it. I've never read a romance novel before, I'm more of a historical-fiction type of reader, but intrigued by the torment and lust of the characters, I decided to give this book a try. In the first chapters, I didn't expect that I would even finish the book, it seemed cheesy. The merangle, all these super natural things going on, I didn't take the writing seriously, but then the plot was thickening and before I knew it, two days passed and I was done with the book writing this review. Lex and Dante's relationship is definintly a dysfunctional one, but also one that won't be leaving my mind for awhile. There are scenes that are so touching (like the one in the craft room). I was laughing, and crying, and intrigued by the story. A good read, especially if your husband is away on business! I didn't read the prequels to this book and had no problem not knowing the background. I may pick them up in the future, but I'm satisfied with the Mermaid's Ransom.

    Ultimate Bad Boy Meets Qunitessential Good Girl

    Dante's bad without being repulsive. Alexis is good without being sickening. The two manage to meet in that wonderful gray area where Joey Hill is so masterful.

    If you like a book with a well developed plot and interesting, complex characters, then give this one a go. As always with Ms. Hill, the sex scenes are creative. The subtle nuances of each encounter make each one unique and believable. The dominance/submission part of the story went a little too far for me this time, but it was appropriate, even necessary to the context of the story.

    Definitely read the Vampire Servant series prior to enjoying this book. A Mermaid's Ransom integrates characters from both "worlds" and gives away a great deal about the vampires that would ruin the suspense of the earlier books.

    Another one from Joey Hill that I couldn't put down.

    Steamy angst over the battle between good and perceived evil.

    Joey Hill does tortured characters unbelievably well. Each personality is well developed and the interactions are psychologically entrancing. The sexy scenes are always in tune with the plot and characters and always HOT!

    Readers will be spellbound as the prize in the battle between good and evil is the soul of the loser

    Alexis has grown up in clam serene waters. The daughter of Jonah the angel and Anna the mermaid (see A Mermaid's Kiss) decides to go to college. However, she begins having dark dreams that frighten the innocent mer-angel.

    Dante the Dark One vampire rules the Underground although he prefers to escape his destiny. His scheme is to kidnap the beautiful mer-angel daughter of the enemy's military leader. However, when he snatches the Prime Legion Commander's daughter he is stunned by the purity of her soul reaching out to his tortured mind. She makes him believe even he has goodness. Before he turns, Dante realizes he must rid himself of Alexis, but cannot as she not just brought back his soul, she also owns it.

    The latest Daughters of Arianne oceanic-urban romantic fantasy (see A Witches Beauty) is much darker than the previous entries as Dante appears evil through much of the first part of the book. His potential transition from total darkness comes at a cost to Alexis who has lived a warm loving life until the dreams assault her followed by his appearance; as he has brought malevolent shadows into her previous 100% light. He is a hybrid too; the offspring of hellish violence between a vampire and a Dark One, Dante knows abuse and loathing domination fuel existence until he meets Alexis. Readers will be spellbound as the prize in the battle between good and evil is the soul of the loser as one of them must turn.
