    Good but very tiny

    We needed a new dictionary. This dictionary seems to be udated well and has lots of words, of course. The only problem I see is that I CAN'T see it! The type is so very tiny, I wish they would have made the book a little bigger so that the type could be bigger. Yes it is a compact sized book to carry with you but you need to have a magnifying glass with you to read it, so not exactly handy.

    Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and Thesaurus

    This is a very good source for general and student use. By combining the dictionary and thesaurus into one easy to use paperback, the reader does not have to switch back and forth between two separate sources. We find it especially useful when doing crossword puzzles and word finds. Also, when writing papers where you can't think of a substitute word, the thesaurus is very handy. This may not be a replacement for a large college dictionary, but the ease of use is a definite plus. The handy size is much better than a large bulky book. We would recomend this book for the majority of users, but not for advanced college research.

    It is very useful

    This is very useful when you don't have the computer handy. I personally use this when I'm reading in bed with the computer off, and this has been very helpful every time I needed to find out what a word meant.

    Never Leave Home Without It

    As an educator and avid reader, I could not live without this combo dictionary/thesaurus. It is easy to read, use and understand. I recommend it for HS and college students. I use it in my HS english classes and I used it as a student myself. I buy one every year because I seem to always find a student who can use it. It is a great gift, especially for writers.
