Merry Christmas Wherever You Are

Barnes & Noble
Country music's perennial Male Vocalist of the Year kicks back with a down-home collection of Christmas music that's sure to please. George lets his fondness for big band swing guide these lush standards and originals, easing his finely hewn vocals into a pillow of strings and bass fiddle. He may deliver a hurtin' song like none other, but George isn't afraid to have a little fun with songs like "All I Want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." With those songs, plus chestnuts like "Let It Snow" and "Jingle Bell Rock," country music's Sinatra at last makes the essential Christmas album his fans have dreamed about.

All Music Guide - Maria Konicki Dinoia
Thirteen years after the release of his first holiday album, Merry Christmas Strait to You, George Strait brings nostalgia and a sense of familiarity to his second spin on the yuletide season. Merry Christmas Wherever You Are offers up more than many other country Christmas albums -- it actually evokes the Christmas spirit. From seasonal standards like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Let It Snow" to appealing renditions of Brenda Lee's "Jingle Bell Rock" and Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song," this album is certainly one you'd like to find wrapped under the tree on Christmas morning.
