More About This Book

Overview

This is the first post-mortem, unauthorized insight into Merv Griffin, a failed singer and unsuccessful actor who unexpectedly rewrote the rules of America's broadcasting industry. He became the richest man in TV, befriended everyone in media who mattered, bought a casino, and maintained a secret life as America's most famously closeted homosexual. From a controversial writer whose previous work has virtually re-defined the art of the celebrity biography, HERE'S MERV.

    Sad Sad Book

Whether Merv Griffin was or was not a closeted homosexual was not the point. The authur (who I checked seems to delight in wrting mainly tell all smut books ) has fictionalized conversations throught Mr. Griffins life down to every last detail. Was he a ghost on the walls of all these dead people? According to the author Merv Griffin bedded every gay and straight man in Hollywood. In fact there are no straight actos in this book. Even Paul Newman is gay! The entire book is basically fake conversations with dead hollywood actors who cannot speak for themselves, how convenient. There was nothing at all about his marriage, or his son, his grandkids, nothing but sexaul conquests in detail. Do NOT buy this book. It made me sad.

Worst book I've ever thrown away

You won't believe how bad this book is. What a piece of junk. It's basically just page after page of Merv meeting every actor in Hollywood...and as each drops his pants, Merv remarks about what a "whopper" they've got. Don't believe me? Spend your money on this piece of nonsense and find out for yourself. Unbelievable....I couldn't believe that something this ridiculous could be found on the shelf of my public library. They have since removed it.

Don't Waste Your Time or Money on This Book

If I could give this book a ZERO STAR Rating I would. It is the worst piece of trash I have ever tried to read. I thought this book would be about Merv Griffin, the man who built an empire in entertainment. It is not. The author, if you can call him that, is just interested in the fact that Merv Griffin is gay. Big deal, we know that. How he got his quoted information and trust me, he uses a lot of it, is beyond me. I think he was talking to himself and very delusional while doing so. PURE JUNK!!!

    A Piece of Trash

Simply put, this is a piece of trash. The author does not have a single credible source. The author also claims that almost every star in Hollywood, male or female, is gay. Porter is a terrible author and not to be believed. I wish I could get my money back. Don't waste your money or your time on this refuse.

    MIND-BOGGLING!

I have recommended this book to many friends. It's definitely an eye-opener, an iconoclastic unveiling of the secret lives of the so-called Hollywood and social elite. Our Merv led quite a full and interesting walk-in-closet of a life!
