Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
Vivienne is messy whether it is eating food, painting pictures, or keeping her room. The messiness bothers her patient parents who clean up after her. Vivienne is not bothered by the jumble and disorder. She is proud of her messy habits until the day arrives when she cannot find her special personalized necklace that spelled out the word, messy, with letter beads. Vivienne searches throughout the house for her unique necklace but to no avail. She has only one area left to look and it is her disorganized room. She makes the big decision to tackle the task and starts to clean her room while searching for the necklace. There is a sweet twist to the ending of the story. The illustrations work with the text to show Vivienne's characteristic habit and her determination to bring some order to her chaotic room. This story is a fun one that encourages a gradual change of habits. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung
