Meet the Author

Dr. med. Yannis Dionyssiotis studied Medicine at the University of Athens and obtained the title of specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in National Rehabilitation Center EIAA in Athens. He worked as Research Fellow in the Laboratory for Research of the Musculoskeletal System at the University of Athens, where he completed his thesis in osteoporosis. From 2005 is Fellow of the European Board of Physical Rehabilitation Medicine. He worked as Physiatrist in the Rehabilitation Department of KAT Hospital, as Head of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department in Rhodes General Hospital in Greece and as Medical Director of Physical and Social Rehabilitation Center Amyntæo in Amyntaio, Florina, Greece. Currently, he is working in Westpfalz-Klinikum, Kusel, Germany in the Department of neurochirourg/neurologische Fruhrehabilitation. He is 3 times elected member of the board of the International Society of Musculoskeletal & Neuronal Interactions (ISMNI), has been elected twice in the board of Hellenic Osteoporosis Foundation (HELIOS) in the past, has written medical books and chapters in English and Greek language and many papers in international journals; won the Heim Ring Silver award during the 8th Mediterranean Congress of Rehabilitation in Limassol, Cyprus in October 2010 and the European Board award in the 16th European Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Bruges in June 2008, is reviewer in many pub med journals and also the editor of the online Rehabilitation magazine: medreha.com.
