I really like the idea of the metal casing to the Bible. My husband runs a lawn care service and he's *always* in his truck. Sometimes he even ends up at church in his work clothes!! This is perfect for him so the pages don't get torn when it gets knocked around in his truck. I also think it's a good way to get a young Christian interested in the Word - even if some people do think it's materialistic.
I took this Bible with me to Army Basic Training. It survived all the abuse I put it through in my duffle- something an ordinary paperback could never have done. The magnetic closure kept my Bible in great shape. This is a great translation. The language is readable and fresh. Obscure terms have been modernized while keeping their meanings. Perfect for any Christian. This is one Bible I'll be reading for a long time!
Reviewing it on other websites, some say the binding is weak, and the text is small, I haven't bought this one, but i need a small compact bible with a version i can understand, including devotionals. Oh yeah since I'm a college student this bible needs to be small and sturdy, so it can fit along with other books and be carried if i'm in a hurry, so if its made of metal, i'm not being materialistic but prudent
Tis Bible is the GREATEST after my pastor got it for me i have been reading it every night it is small compact and easy to understand because it is in the language that people use today
OK, I'm 59 years old and I love this little vessel of truth in a tin can. It's pages survive sliding around in the floor of my truck, unlike my pretty leather bound Thompson chain King James version that I use for study.
Okay come on people you have to be really materialistic to purchase this kind of Bible. First of all... IT'S A BIBLE! It has the same text and the cover isn't even all that great. I'm 17 years old and I could care less if my Bible is 'hip' or not. Personally I'd rather stick to my regular black KJV Bible, but hey it's your money, blow it on whatever you want.
