Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Beverley Fahey
This book is like a sweet candy; it is easily palatable but once consumed quickly forgotten. Kirsty and Rachel are to be bridesmaids at Esther's upcoming wedding and have been charged by the bride to find "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a penny for your shoe." Before they can begin the task, the fairy, Mia, who needs their help in finding three stolen wedding charms that give her magic power, visits them. The talismans have been taken by Jack Frost and his bickering goblins. On three separate occasions the girls, magically reduced to fairy size, travel with Mia to the bottom of a well for the shiny penny, a Caribbean Island for the golden bells, and with the protection of an eclipse locate the glowing silver veil. All ends well with Mia's power restored and the girls able to give the bride good luck trinkets gathered on their travels. This series is immensely popular with young girls and this one too will find an audience. Stilted dialogue, lack of suspense, and predictability aside, fans will be happy with another adventure.
